They have perviously released the songs, “Attack” and “Labyrinth” and this year, Hollow Peak has be released the album, Obsidian Cult. As a whole, everything is great by how each track offers the elements heavy metal, melodic rock and atmospheric elements that explores the themes of inner turmoil and resilience.Kicking things off is “Ashes Rise A Crown,” and what is fabulously fantastic about the tune is how the solid rock guitar playing welcomes listeners to the band’s musical world where the sizzling instrumentation brings a catchy hard rock style, while the elegant vocal performance brings beautiful melodies that match the rich lyrics. “Ashes Rise A Crown” is a straight up jammer that proves how powerful Hollow Peak is as a band.Now, “Labyrinth” is a bit different from the pervious number because the music is pure metal that is trapped inside stunning harmonies. While listening, the super solid guitar and drum playing smacks the background with a Metallica and Iron Maiden style that compliments the vocalist’s vocal tempo. Also, the guitar solo towards the end of “Labyrinth” adds an extra kick of mind-dazzling talent.Another earth-shattering composition is “Attack,” and what steals the show is hearing the bass guitar rumbling in the background. Right off the bat, deep and vein-jolting bass guitar riffs can be heard blaring with sheer power and in ways, each bass guitar riff brings the feeling of warning as a potential “Attack” is lurking from the horizon. This ditty is a in-your-face war song thanks to the dynamic bass guitar playing.“Celest” is a gorgeous slower number by how the instrumentation fills the atmosphere with a lovely jazz-rock tempo that matches the emotional feelings the vocalist is feeling. Sure, the whole thing sounds slow, but everything goes on a high note when the vocalist wails out the relatable lyrics. “Celest” gives listeners a chance to hear Hollow Peak’s experimental side because the whole production bleeds endless and insightful musical talent.Obsidian Cult is a piece of work that shows Hollow Peak successfully pushing their musical skills to the next level with more bolder and dynamic song writing, music playing and vocal performance.
