Album:

Dawn of Destiny are a power metal outfit from Germany with over 10 years of experience as a band. With 5 albums and countless high profile live slots under their belt, it’s unsurprising that Dawn of Destiny’s sixth studio album To Hell is very well polished. What is surprising are the different directions they take their strong power metal influence in. Elements of folk music are drifted in and out of the equation between sections of beefy drum fills, galloping riffs, and sublimely executed layered vocals which the whole band gets in on. The three contrasting vocal styles, ranging from a melodic female lead, melodic male backing, and a male growl, are utilized tastefully and combine to create a story line feel to the lyrics which matches the epic nature of the music. Now, lets get this on record, there are *plenty* of fist pumping, high intensity sections and the enormous, uplifting choruses that power metal fans live for. Dawn of Destiny’s use of musical tangents shouldn’t suggest that this album veers off into a progressive or experimental project. This album does a marvelous job of touching on a variety of interesting influences whilst at all times staying true to their bread and butter power metal base.Tracks such as “Fire” and “Belief” will more than quench the listeners thirst for those textbook power metal groove and anthem like verse and chorus vocal lines, while the element of experimenting with folk crossover metal is evident in the epic “Only The Ocean Knows”. “Scream” throws in some seriously dark twists, particularly on the guitars and the vocal interlude sections, while “Light In The Night” features a deep, death metalesque growled vocal feature. This album is packed full of surprises added to the foundation of an excellently written power metal record. From the intricate violin section of “From Paradise” to the uncompromising verse into the bouncing chorus of title track “To Hell”, I can guarantee fans of power metal and those with an appreciation of groove and catchiness in metal will be able to play To Hell from the first track to the last and enjoy every second of it!Dawn of Destiny’s sixth studio album To Hell comes out on October 2nd, 2015 via Phonotraxx Publishing. I strongly recommend you check it out!

Album:

Over the years, DAWN OF DESTINY have not skinned stylistically, but have significantly improved in quality. Although the band quickly gained a solid fan base around her, she had some teething problems in the beginning, as her idiosyncratic style on three, four albums from the beginning seemed to go awry and the performance seemed wooden. These problems have been solved in recent times, so that the seventh LP of the group around Jeanette Scherff internationally absolutely competitive "female-fronted metal" of the not entirely conventional variety has to offer.Guests, as they used to be shown on DAWN OF DESTINY's albums, are not in the squad this year, but "The Beast Within" does not need any adornment from outside. The temporary Axxis protégés play all alone and seemingly dreamlike through a dozen powerful Modern Power Metal compositions (what a word ...), for the bassist Jens Faber, the musical head of the troupe, for all Love for the complex (the tact and mood changes are manifold) never neglected the hook or the melody itself. That's why the entire material revolves as expected around singer Scherff, who could easily bring out a clichéed fight-issue with her power tube, but does not do it. Instead, she puts herself at the service of the team and can cope with any emotional situation, whether in the wistful 'It's My Fate' or during 'Fight Your Inner Demons', which exemplifies the band's raison d' être with its sinister theatricality her restrained performance in the tough reef bolster 'Looking For A Hero' or in the confident uptempo hymn 'Already Dead'.By the way, the latter may also be cited in order to praise the dynamics of the concept album. The fictional narrative about a young, disconnected from their family seekers, who struggles through a cold urban-futuristic milieu, so seems to take an at least not disastrous end, which then seems to confirm in the piano ballad, Longing '. Anyway ...CONCLUSIONS: DAWN OF DESTINY are soon celebrating their 15th anniversary and may look ahead confidently at the quality of "The Beast Inside". If you like unusual, in the best sense of the word bombastic Modern Metal, you should check out the easy-to-read and yet adequately rich record.

Album:

DAWN OF DESTINY have been an integral part of the European symphonic metal scene for over 15 years. With every album and every side project, mastermind Jens Faber raises the creative bar a little higher. "Of Silence" is no exception and impresses with great choruses, epic melodies and sophisticated songwriting. In the good old tradition, the band again relies on a spectacular guest appearance on this album. After Jon Oliva, Zak Stevens (both SAVATAGE) and Björn Speed Strid (SOILWORK) could be heard on the previous albums, this time LORD OF THE LOST Chris Harms enriches the latest work of the Bochum-based band, who combine symphonic and power metal so skillfully hardly any other band.
