Boguslaw Balcerak's Crylord, a neo-classical power metal band based in Poland, was founded in 2009. So far, the band centered around guitarist Balcerak has released two albums: "Blood Of The Prophets" (2011) and "Gates Of Valhalla" (2014). The release of the band's third full length-album "Human Heredity" is now more representing a kind of hard rock sound but nevertheless still also showcases the previous, unique neo-classical style.

BOGUSLAW BALCERAK took eight years before he put the third album of his project CRYLORD into the shops."Human Heredity" is the title, and for the eleven songs the Pole has once again brought well-known guest singers like Göran Edman, Rick Altzi, David Akkeson and Tim "Ripper" Owens on board.Musically, the guitarist has made a small course correction and the progressive parts have been cut back. They were replaced by more catchy passages and solo interludes, which this time are even more reminiscent of the Swede Yngwie Malmsteen than was already the case with the predecessor.Unfortunately, the song material is not always convincing and even the exceptional voices are not able to hide this shortcoming permanently. So "Human Heredity" is still above average but not quite enough for the first league.For fans of melodic metal with a Malmsteen touch, the whole thing is certainly worth a test run and I recommend "It's Just A Wind", "Thunderbolt" and "Wolf At The Gates".

Boguslaw Balcerak is a Polish guitarist born in 1972. As a teenager he played in the band Holocaust. In 1989 Boguslaw saw Yngwie J. Malmsteen play for the first time. It got him intrigued and it changed his guitar playing. In the early 90’s he evolved and developed his own style. Plenty of recording demos were made back then. Some of them caught the attention of Mike Varney. Although no records were made, he continued mastering his guitar technique. At that time, he also worked with different bands. He recorded and toured with the Polish band Hetman.In 2008 he started his own band - Boguslaw Balcerak’s CRYLORD - and has since released 4 albums under that name, making Endless Life number 5. This is not counting Rock Fever, which is a more hard rock album. Having always worked with various singers on the albums (Carsten “Lizard” Schulz, Rick Altzi, Mark Boals, Ricky Wychowaniec, David Akesson and Tim “Ripper” Owens to name a few), this time he is joined full time with another previous guest, the ever impressive Göran Edman! And Göran loved the songs so much, he really outdid himself on the 12 tracks on offer! Prepare to be blown away…

Boguslaw Balcerak’s CRYLORD album “Ashes II Ashes” is the latest effort from the guitar virtuoso Boguslaw Balcerak. This time I’m truly surprised and impressed. No doubt he can shred. If you like Yngwie J. Malmsteen or George Bellas this is a must buy. But not only for that. There are plenty of great, powerful and heavy songs full of catchy and memorable melodies. Songs are performed by the best of the best singers including Mark Boals, Göran Edman, Rick Altzi, Jota Fortinho, David Akesson, Ricky Vaniec and Harry Conklin. Among 12 songs there are also two interesting instrumental tunes. So far it's the best album recorded by Boguslaw Balcerak’s CRYLORD. All the things this time seem to be in the right place and there are no weak moments at all on this album. In addition, there is one nice cover song “Perfect Strangers” from Deep Purple. Favorite and I believe the best songs are “Stand up and fight” feat. Rick Altzi, “Betrayer” feat. Jota Fortinho, “Love is illusion” feat. Mark Boals and “Cry for the nations” feat. Göran Edman. Much recommended album.

In 1989 Polish guitarist Boguslaw Balcerak saw Yngwie J. Malmsteen play for the first time. It got him intrigued and it changed his guitar playing. From there Boguslaw evolved and developed his own playing style. In 2008 he started his own band – Boguslaw Balcerak’s CRYLORD – and has since released 5 albums under that name, making this one released today, “Lost Bloody Heroes”, number 6.Having always worked with various singers on the albums (Carsten “Lizard” Schulz, Rick Altzi, Ricky Wychowaniec, David Akesson and Tim “Ripper” Owens to name a few), on previous album ‘Endless Life’, Göran Edman provided all the vocals.On this new release “Lost Bloody Heroes” Boguslaw is joined exclusively by the great Mark Boals, whom he has worked with before. Together with drummer Rob Wroblewski, they deliver 12 songs in a classic Crylord style. A healthy dose of neo-classical metal, traditional hard rock, and a hint of progressive. But guitar mastery and stellar vocals are a given!Combined with the intriguing artwork from lyricist Artur Milon, the album forms a worthy successor to the successful previous Boguslaw Balcerak’s CRYLORD records and puts the band at the top of this sub-genre… on “Lost Bloody Heroes” the band sounds more Yngwie 1986 than Yngwie himself!While guitar prowess is of course emphasized, the album features really well-written songs – do you think neo-classical metal / hard rock is outdated 2025? Rainbow is outdated to you? Nah, if well done, this genre is fantastic.And Balcerak makes justice to it with songs like the awesome hard rockin’ ‘Born to Rock’, ‘Inside of the Hell’, the catchy ‘Hold On’, ‘New Horizon’, tracks to praise for their inspiration beyond mere technical displays.And if the previous CD ‘Endless Life’ was terrific (featured hare at 0dayrox) with Goran Edman at the mic, this new one is even better, as the songs are catchier and Boal’s power-pipes fit the music to perfection.
