AMALGAMA is one of the most famous melodic metal bands from ex-USSR territory featuring Andrey Smirnov (U.D.O., Dirkschneider) on guitars/vocals and composing. Over the 20-year history of the band, hundreds of shows have been played throughout Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Europe, also 4 full-length albums and 5 EP’s have been officially released. Now the band is working on the next studio record. Amalgama's style has undergone many changes over the years, but essentially remains the powerful mix of heavy riffs, remarkable vocals and catchy melodies.

Third full-length album and again great.Amalgama was formed in the summer of 2001 by Vlad "Graf" Ivoylov and Oleg "Helgy" Bogdanov.The bands style has been characterized as melodic rock with influences from classic 80's rock bands.Amalgama's distinctive feature includes classic metal riffs and powerfull vocals of Vlad "Graf" Ivoylov which is noted for his wide vocal range of 3.5 octaves. The band has released 4 studio albums and numerous singles.Throughout the career, Amalgama have performed more than 450 concerts in different countries such as Russia, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Belarus. The band also shared the stage with Judas Priest, Lordi, Blind Guardian, Dirkschneider, Dragonforce, Grave Digger, Ross the Boss, W.A.S.P., Sonata Arctica, Steel Panther, U.D.O., Airbourne, Hammerfall, Uriah Heep and other legendary bands.

This is the new album from multi-national (European) band AMALGAMA, including ex members of Dutch wonders DELAIN.AMALGAMA is a latin word meaning ‘mixture or blend of metals’ but also ‘people or things of different origin or nature’, and this is a proper name for this combo. The band has released 4 studio albums and numerous singles, opened shows for almighty JUDAS PRIEST, and upported the likes of U.D.O., BLIND GUARDIAN, W.A.S.P., URIAH HEEP, AIRBOURNE and many more, plus slots in such well-known events as Masters Of Rock, MetalFest, RockCastle, etc.So we have here a bunch of professionals who know exactly what they’re doing; classic, commercial melodic hard / metal with a timeless style & sound. On this new album particularly influenced by the ’80s fashion.Well written, performed and produced, “Back to the 80s” is an enjoyable collection of melodic songs, plenty of cool riffs, clean vocals and an overall good-time feeling.AMALGAMA is a very interesting band because while they play a well established style and keep faithful to the flourishes of the genre, they have a quite own sound.

Today 17th March 2025 Moscow hard-n-heavy band AMALGAMA officially released their studio album ‘Icewind Tales’ (2025)!As for me, it's just great! Powerfully melodic...Qualitative domestic hard n heavy though in English with vocals MAINE...by the way Vlad Graf Ivoylov has a range of three and a half octaves.The best of ours so far. Thank you Konstantin.
