It has been more than 10 years since the Grailknights first entered the metal scene. On March 18th, 2016 they will return to unleash their next "Super Hero Metal" master piece which is a 5 track EP called "Dead or Alive".One of the tracks is called "Crimson Shades of Glory" and was created in co-operation with German based A-capella metal squad Van Canto. Both bands will also go on tour together starting on March 18th.As a little foretaste for the upcoming EP the band shot a music vidoe featuring the title track "Dead or Alive".Those looking for superheroes, does not have in the cinema to see Ryan Reynolds or Paul Rudd, but can let his gaze even after Grailham-City to be re-issued with the GRAILKNIGHTS hero on a quest for the Holy Grail. This time it is, however, a fairly short, but all the more exciting and more varied adventures, since the latest release of the Hanoverian contains only five songs.Has "Calling The Choir" just two years under his belt, is to "Dead Or Alive" act as mouth watery maker for the upcoming album. And that manages the EP also fully. Heroic, epic and to some extent self-deprecating pull the Melo-Death-power hero going back to take the local music scene and with a slight nod to protect us from evil. This works with the catchy title track and 'Crimson Shades Of Glory' by means of VAN CANTO also quite good, the song has whistle, a good production and makes together with the 'Rise Of The Black Knight' death stick a consistent and good in itself Figure. Although 'Fuel To Flame' should specifically address the melody-conscious fan base, does not quite fit into the overall concept of the fourth EP track. However, this makes the final medley that the five heroes also give in pantyhose good cook live for the best.Summa sumarum sweetened "Dead Or Alive" the waiting time to the next Studio bite and whets the appetite for a repeated but GRAILKNIGHTS-live performance. Even if in the distant, distant future the superhero theme will not eventually be the latest, it is worthwhile to squint to watch at five seemingly normal residents make their exploits always to Hanover-City.

After about four years, the GRAILKNIGHTS once again put on the studio tights and set to music a new heroic epic. Most recently there was "Calling The Choir" on the ears (the EP excluded from 2016). "Knightfall" is the name of the troupe's fifth record, and the wordplay in the name is actually reflected in the album's comparatively dark theme. In black and white artwork, Grailham City looks almost like Gotham City, plagued by all sorts of bad guys. But do not worry, the GRAILKNIGHTS are of course still fun Metal and do not start with Doom" on "Knightfall".But it's still batmanesk, with an orchestral intro that immediately takes you back to Gotham. Immediately afterwards, "Pumping Iron Power" continues in the BATTLE-BEAST style. With electro-intro and deliberately used kitsch, the piece dances pumping into the ear canal. SABATON singer Joakim Brodén as a guest on the mic also fits in wonderfully with the theme. However, the real listening tips are "Cthulhu" and "March Of The Skeletons", both of which captivate with their earwig potential.Especially the permanent sprinkling of different styles, with which the GRAILKNIGHTS spice up their Power Metal, provide plenty of variety and make you listen again and again. Sometimes it reminds you of Horrorpunk, sometimes a bit of humppa resonates, and 80's synth rock is included. But that's not all, Bonanza-Western-Mukke is also available ("Ghost Town"), and episch-orchestral is in "Book Of A Hero".When it comes to songwriting, the GRAILKNIGHTS really score on "Knightfall". The craftsmanship implementation and production leave nothing to be desired. The impulse to listen to the album more often, but still out. What sounds odd at first, but can be easily explained. In the end, fun metal is usually one thing: very nice or very funny. Anyone looking for music a little more, but only limited finds. Of course, this does not detract from the quality of the album, but it ensures a rating that is just "very nice".

With their sixth studio album, the Grailknights are back after 4 years. With their album Knightfall, released in 2018, they made it as far as Japan and sold out halls as support for Feuerschwanz on their "15 Jahre" tour. This also led to a close friendship that took them to the Strandkorb Metfest in Nuremberg in 2021, where "Turbo Boost" premiered with Ben Metzner (Prinz Hodenherz) from Feuerschwanz. For the title track Muscle Bound For Glory, they got Thomas Laszlo Winkler (Angus McFive), former frontman of Gloryhammer, on board. The album starts off strong with the album's title track Muscle Bound For Glory. With the support of Thomas Winkler, the Grailknights show where the hammer hangs on this power metal track. In the lyrics there are also allusions to Gloryhammer, Winkler's former band.Turbo Boost is lyrically and figuratively a successful tribute to the series "Knight Rider". The title line from the original series is played several times in the song. Ben Metzner delivers a brilliant duet together with Sir Optimus Prime. The chicks from Feuerschwanz also make a guest appearance in the video. For the video production, the Grailknights got themselves two KITT conversions and a Corvette for their arch-enemy Dr. Skull. At the end of the video there is a nice Easter Egg for all fans of the series.Legions Of Heroes addresses the Grailknights Battlechoir to rally and get ready for the ultimate battle. The song is characterised by powerful choruses.Cybone One has a "Billy Idol" touch and revolves around Dr Skull's secret super weapon. The song combines super hero metal with 80s synthwave. In the middle of the album follows the, as Sir Optimus Prime says, obligatory ballad, with Lights the Grailknights show their pensive side. The song addresses the Battlechoir, which has been sorely missing from the Grailknights over the past 2 years. But memory, cohesion and support have kept the lights on.The Grailknights are trapped in Dr Skull's Pinball Death Machine and the Battlechoir is to help free them. The song is a musical homage to these old slot machines. A strong power metal piece for which we wish we had a music video. With POWAA!!! the Grailknights honour themselves and the source of their strength, the Battlechoir and the holy grail, with synthetic sounds. The song is set up like an intro to a typical comic series, in which the individual Knights are introduced. The trip to Japan has influenced the Grailknights retrospectively, not that they just fulfilled a dream. Gojira is a thank-you to the Japanese fans, so the Grailknights also get support from Yuri from Rokshasa - a successful cooperation that should not only go down well in Japan. Godzilla unites his nuclear forces with the Grailknights in the fight against Dr. Skull.Skyward Thunder Punch is aimed at the ultimate warrior from a 90s video game. It is a clear signal against racists. With lots of synth sounds, the Grailknights ring in Fall Of A Kingdom. The Grailknights fight for good and bring down the kingdom of Dr. Skull. It is the era of heroes and the brave. The album closes with an epic song celebrating the victory with The Holy Grail. The quest and battle for the Holy Grail is sung about in powerful choruses. The song shows medieval influence, perhaps something the Grailknights took from their tour with Feuerschwanz. Conclusion:A strong album that will accompany the Grailknights on a great tour. Not only for nerds, this album again offers many songs to celebrate with. With three strong collaborations, the Grailknights show that they also have an influence on other bands. We are looking forward to the still pending music video for Muscle Bound For Glory, for which the Grailknights travelled especially to Thomas Winkler, and of course to the tour.
