Bio:
Allen/Lande (or Allen-Lande) is a melodic rock/heavy metal supergroup/band project formed in 2005 by guitarist Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Starbreaker) with two highly acclaimed metal vocalists: Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen and former Masterplan vocalist Jørn Lande. The songs, all written by Karlsson, feature a variety of hard rock and heavy metal songs with a progressive metal touch. On March 2013, Jørn Lande announced in an interview that a new Allen/Lande album was in the works but this time with songwriting and production made by former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki, replacing Magnus Karlsson. On 24 July 2013, Timo Tolkki also confirmed the role in the project via his Facebook page.[4] The album was officially comfirmed on July 9, 2014, with the title The Great Divide. It will be released on October 17 in Europe and October 21 2014 in North America. This time, Lande has also contributed with some vocal melodies and lyrics to the album. The first chapter of the collaboration between Jorn Lande and Russell Allen was written in September 2005 with "The Battle" and was with great praise, both from the fans and the press, ennobled. Many magazines and websites it was even dubbed as "Album of the Year" and by the success of the CD was one of the most successful releases ever in Melodic Heavy Metal. A large part of the success was also due to the multi-talented guitarist and songwriter Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Last Tribe, Starbreaker).2007 was written with "The Revenge" the second chapter of the successful cooperation and again the reactions of the press and the fans were breathtaking. Harder and with a fuller production by the mix of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Angra, Place Vendome) came into being, inspired the album that fans already loved the first chapter. 2010 was successfully concluded with "The Showdown" the Trilogy. The new album "The Great Divide" is ready for a big change, because the songwriting and production are now in the hands of the former Stratovarius Timo Tolkki member. After the success of Trilogy a "fresher" Musical Director was necessary to go a step forward, while remaining in the familiar musical climes, with a legendary songwriting and incredible vocals of the two singers exception.
