Bio:

Based near Frankfurt, Germany, JÄST have set themselves the vision "Bring Rock Back To Radio!", along with a live presence with a live presence that offers fans of catchy rock music melodies and lyrics to sing along to with authenticity and a combination of great songs and entertainment. In the summer of 2023, bassist Steven Wussow (ORDEN OGAN, ex-XANDRIA) surprises his bandmate Axel Ritt (ex-GRAVE DIGGER), whom he knows from their work together in DOMAIN, with an unexpected WhatsApp message. As an admirer of great melodies, great songs and great productions of the 80s, he would like to create a band that has written the popular trademarks of the same era on the songwriting flags, but with a correspondingly more modern sound. The idea fell on fertile ground with the songwriter, guitarist and producer, who quickly agreed on the classic rock line-up of V, G, B and Dr and found the perfect backbone in terms of beats, show and punch in Tim Breideband (Gregorian, ex-Freedom Call, ex-Bonfire).When it comes to vocals, Facebook has found one of the country's best rockers in the form of singer Jessica Conte, a young entertainer with Sicilian roots, who "blows the boys away" with her voice. Despite her youth, Jessica has been musically influenced by the 70s / 80s decades, which makes her the ideal front woman for the band. The result is the band JÄST, whose name is made up of the first letters of the first names in the best ABBA tradition. The band's vision is "Bring Rock Back To Radio!", accompanied with a live presence that offers fans of catchy rock music melodies and lyrics to sing along to with authenticity and a combination of great songs and entertainment.

Album:

We’re here presenting in exclusive “JÄSTified“, the band’s full length debut album to be released April 17. Is the album cover art reminiscent of VIXEN’s 1988 classic LP? There’s a reason…JÄST is based in the Frankfurt area, consisting of (former) members of the bands BONFIRE, FREEDOM CALL, GRAVE DIGGER, ORDEN OGAN, XANDRIA, and DOMAIN, who, with their “80s AOR Reloaded” sound, are reviving the heyday of the great melodies and arrangements of the Eighties. The result is the female-fronted band JÄST, whose name is made up of the first letters of the first names in the best ABBA tradition. While based on the AOR / Melodic Hard Rock brand made famous by HEART in 1985, VIXEN and LITA FOR, the sound design & production on this album is hard-hitting, punchy moving, yet always melodic as the genre’s trademark. The band’s vision is “Bring Rock Back To Radio!”, accompanied with a live presence that offers fans of catchy rock music melodies and lyrics to sing along to. “JÄSTified” packs that late ’80s female fronted Melodic Rock / AOR feeling in the style of LAOS, JACKIE BODIMEAD, RACHEL RACHEL, plenty of fine melodies and outstanding harmony vocals throughout. In the summer of 2023, German bassist Steven Wussow (ORDEN OGAN, ex-XANDRIA) surprises his bandmate Axel Ritt (ex- GRAVE DIGGER), whom he knows from their work together in DOMAIN, with an unexpected WhatsApp message. Despite her youth, Jessica has been musically influenced by the 70s / 80s decades, which makes her the ideal front woman for the band.Opener “Heartlight” gets the motor running. It’s catchy, cleanly produced, and features a chorus that immediately sticks in your head. With “Kiss Yourself Goodbye” the tempo noticeably picks up, an edgy and energetic biting rocker.“Do You Wanna Dance” is pure 1989 ready for radio, and more smooth melodies appear within “A Love Like That”, “An Ode To Infinity,” and “Road Of Destiny”.”Sweet Gasoline” brings the uptempo punch, a song that cranks up the hard rock factor and is definitely one of the highlights. ”I Can See Clearly Now” also impresses with more dynamism and a great sense of enjoyment. The Melissa Etheridge cover, “Like The Way I Do” gets a much modern sound than the original, very well done, and somehow reminds of latter day Romeo’s Daughter. With ”In The Thrill Of The Night” the band finds a successful balance of melody and hard rock with a catchy refrain and sharp guitars, before ‘Ten Years Plan’ brings the album to a solid uptempo close.“JÄSTified” is one of the best female-fronted AOR / Melodic Hard Rock albums released in recent time. Jessica Conte is killer singer, and the rest of the guys deliver some impressive musicianship. This is uptempo, sharp, anthemic Melodic Hard, a great mix of AOR melody with hard rock pulse.
