Album:

I love classic and traditional heavy metal, and its many variants like speed, thrash, power, and progressive metal. It's also great to see the genre cycle and resurge over the years. Much of the material from around the world crosses my desk and, more often than not I'm pleasantly surprised once more. However, that would not be the case for Italy's Alltheniko and their sixth album Italian History VI.The bottom line: I simply could not endure listening to this band or this album. I barely made it through the first three songs, and then skipped through the rest of the album. But let's back up a bit with some basic information about the band. Alltheniko plays, essentially, a hybrid of traditional thrash and speed metal. They do this with abrasive and torturous riffage, thumping drums and bass, brisk pacing, and excruciating unlistenable vocals. For that last element, I'm basically convinced that bass player David Nightflight can't sing for shit. Additionally, all the aforementioned elements essentially rape and pillage all sense of melody and harmony. Is there anything positive to say? Yeah, sure. Joe Boneshaker can rip off some mean solos. Excepting that and for all the other reasons above, I simply could not appreciate, endure, or enjoy Alltheniko's Italian History VI. You may feel differently.

Eight full-length album.Album released September 12, 2025.Italian heavy metal warriors Alltheniko strike back with their most explosive album yet: Balls of Steel. Unleashing a furious blend of speed, power and raw.The band name comes from a word game involving their city Oldenico (which is in the Vercelli's province). In other words, it's a sort of anglicized form of it, that basically sounds the same way.
