Bio:

Insania is a Swedish power metal band from Stockholm , which was founded in 1992 by Mikko Korsbäck and Henrik Juhano. The band is not to be confused with the German heavy metal band of the same name. The band was founded in 1992 by Mikko Korsbäck and Henrik Juhano. Thomas Stolt (bass), Niklas Dahlin (guitar), Patrik Västilä (keyboards) and singer David Henriksson completed the line-up. In 1996 a first demo was recorded that brought the band a record deal with the record company No Fashion Records . In 1999 her debut album World of Ice was released there , which was produced by Thomas Skogsberg . Several small tours followed, the biggest appearance was at a festival in the opening act of Manowar . In 2000, the second work Sunrise appeared in Riverland , in the opening act for Saxona little tour was done. David Henriksson decided to exit after the tour and was replaced by Ola Halén. Together with him, the album Fantasy - A New Dimension was released . In order to avoid confusion with the German and Czech bands of the same name, the band logo was given the addition "Stockholm".After the album was released, Patrik Västilä left to continue his studies. He was replaced by Dimitri Keiski. The two guitarists Henrik Juhano and Niklas Dahlin also left the band shortly afterwards. Peter Östros then got in and it was decided to continue with a guitar. After losing their record deal, some demos were recorded. It wasn't until 2007 that they were able to sign with Black Lodge, who released the album Agony - Gift of Life in 2007. In the meantime, Östros and Keiski devoted a Gospel - rock project.

Album:

Sweden’s power metal masters Insania return with their brand-new album “The Great Apocalypse“.4 Years after the successful “V”, the Swedes are back with their own recipe of Power Metal, full of speedy, double-bass drums, great hooks, and amazing solos. The band's current line-up consists of Mikko Korsbäck (drums), Tomas Stolt (bass), Niklas Dahlin (guitar), Ola Halén (vocals) and Peter Östros (guitar). The first version of Insania was formed in 1992 by drum player Mikko Korsbäck and guitar player Henrik Juhano. Bass player Tomas Stolt was added to the line-up shortly after and a few other musicians were also part of the band for short periods of time. The band initially started off playing covers of their favorite bands such as Helloween and Iron Maiden, but eventually Mikko´s classmate Niklas Dahlin joined as a second guitar player and they started writing their own tunes. The band then added keyboard player Patrik Västilä and began to pursue a more melodic style. Mikko took it upon himself to sing, even if he was playing the drums at the same time, as the band had not found a vocalist to match their ambitions. In 1997, the band approached singer David Henriksson to join the band. The union between the band's ambitions and David’s vocals were a match made in heaven. The band felt complete now and sought to find a way to reach a bigger crowd. Later, the band was offered a deal with House of Kicks (later known as MNW and then Sound Pollution) and their debut album "World of Ice" was released in 1999. The band would go on to release three more albums over the course of the coming years while enduring some line-up changes and eventually going on hiatus in 2007.Following the signing with Frontiers to release “V”, Insania started to bring again back to the metalheads around the globe their power metal attack revitalized with the addition of the singer extraordinaire Olaf Halén, the 14 minutes Title Track featured in the new album is the manifest of the band’s sound.
