Ankor is an alternative metal band with the female front singer/screamer Jessie Williams (Bristol, UK) the drummer girl Ra Tache (Brazil), David Romeu and Fito Martínez (Catalonia) formed in Tarragona (Barcelona, Spain) in 2003, when its members were only around 14 years old.More than 10 years later, with 4 albums on their backs and spread worldwide, they are nowadays one of the Spanish references in this genre. In January 2015 they were chosen best newcomer band by the readers of the oldest and most prestigious rock magazine in Spain and South America: La Heavy (Heavy Rock/ Kerrang)..First edited album: Al Fin Descansar (2007), sung in Spanish and distributed by Santo Grial Productions in Spain, and by Rock Stakk Records in Japan. An album where critics agreed on the great future they had ahead, by their youth (18/19 years old) and that took them to be “Top 5” sales in the chain stores Media Markt in Spain and get “sold out” in Japan in the first week of sales.Second album and change to English: My Own Angel (2011), was the confirmation of Ankor in Spain and the first incursion in Europe, where the album was edited worldwide by the German Company STF-Records and took the band to make a tour with more tan 50 dates, taking part in festivals with worldwide known bands like Guns N’ Roses, Marilyn Manson or Nightwish, and participating in an aborad festival for the first time (Turku, Finland).My Own Angel was chosen best album of the year in countries like Spain, Norway, Greece and Germany.Third album, consecration and national reference: Last Song For Venus (2013) was a revolution as for sound and aesthetics of rock done in Spain and Europe, where the band has managed to be known as one of the revelations of the year, getting many distinctions for a completely auto- produced and auto-financed wor.A fresh, modern and varied work that has gained followers of the genre, but even more important, also not the typical rock & metal followers, managing to get close to all audiences by the captivating, energetic and emotional music of the band, which they have successfully presented throughout 15 shows in their national headliner tour Get On The Winner Tour (2014/2015).ANKOR’s new album, called ‘Beyond the Silence of These Years’, (May 12th 2017) it’s mixed by Dan Korneff (A Day To Remember, Paramore, Pierce The Veil, Mayday Parade, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin...) of Sonic Debris Studios, New York, and mastered by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound (NY), the most renowned mastering engineer of the world (Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me The Horizon, Muse, Green Day...The band will be playing the album for first time over the world: Spain, United Kingdom, Japan México, Italy, France, Germany...

Being always oneself is something to which, sadly, we underestimate. We have more in mind what they will say before our own happiness and, therefore, we are locked in a prison of unhappiness. But, what happens when one is liberated ?: we reach the genius that we all carry within us.I want to comment on a case. Away from the typical cliché of heaviata with long hair and leather dress, the ANKOR group has created its personal stamp. Although disc after album they were surpassing, something failed; that's why after a deep renovation: David Romeu, Fito Martinez, Jessie Williams and Ra Tache (the new drummer of the band) have found a wake only suitable for those who dare to risk."Beyond The Silence Of These Years" is a before and after because it is a record that, truly, has come from the depths of your heart. The importance of being yourself translates into 11 songs where the important thing is not heavy metal, it is the music they carry inside.We started the reproduction and as the fruit of the tree forbidden by God, "The Monster I Am" is the beginning of awakening with a melody full of passional sin. There are numerous details to name and discover that make up the song, an experience that is worth listening to watching his fantastic video clip. "Love Is Not Forever" highlights the alternative tone with a catchy chorus and a rather metallic touch. We continue and the surprising "Lost Soul", with an outstanding Jessie, certifies a state of enviable form. You can feel a number of sensations listening to the record, but try "Nana" and you'll see what I mean.When it seems that it has already reached the peak of "Beyond The Silence Of These Years", the perfect "Shhh ... (I'm Not Gonna Lose It)" imposes a new meaning to the word quality with its rap and female chorus. It's nice to hear such a song, but in these cases I always ask myself: what's better? The vibration or the help? "Kiss Me Goodnight" is all a balm to the heart where David and Jessie sing you with all their love. After a deserved rest, the madness and innocence are present because of "From Marbles to Cocaine" and its, perfectly located, children's choir. The heaviest of the CD is in "The Legend of Charles the Gian" and what most reminds the ANKOR of all life in "Endless Road." The experiment, very well carried out, of "Unique & Equal" triumphs and already to finish: "Interstellar" gives a slow but effective ending for a full-fledged record.The ANKOR thing has no word. What they have created with "Beyond The Silence Of These Years" transcends borders and it is worth categorizing not as a great metal record, but as an excellent music record. The reason for all this ?: having composed from your own heart knowing who you are. The sweat of the past has its reward with an album that has it all; Now to wait for its setting on a stage, will it be the definitive step to take to those of Tarragona where they deserve ?: I will be there to prove it.
