Social Stain was formed in Lahti in late 2014 by Toni (bassist and main composer) who needed an outlet for his hard rock songs, influenced by the likes of Therapy?, Misfits, Metallica, Guns n’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and Skid Row. Mika (drums) and Antti (guitar) shortly joined their former bandmate - all three had played in a local, quite well known metal band Kill the Romance a few years back. A month or so later, Antti’s cousin Teemu joined as the vocalist (and lyricist), making the lineup complete.The band spent its formative months writing more songs, rehearsing and preparing to record its first EP/demo and to play live as much as possible. The debut gig was at Lahti’s legendary music venue Torvi in January 2015, right after the release of the internet-only released EP/demo. The band went out, delivered an ass-kicking performance and set the bar high for the shows to come. As the band consists of seasoned veterans with hundreds of gigs between them, there are no dull moments, shoegazing, or any kind of wimping out at Social Stain gigs - just pure energy and total rock n’ roll action!The year 2015 continued with more live shows, more rehearsing and more writing. Eventually, 12 songs were chosen to become Social Stain’s debut full-length with the engineering guidance of Mika Ojala (Viikate, Mörbid Vomit, Koljosen tiekiista), and the recordings began in late 2015. With Toni overseeing the whole process as a producer, the band managed to finalize the album recordings in the late spring/early summer of 2016.Social Stain’s debut album will see the light of day in late 2016, filled with 90’s influenced hard rock with a touch of metal, a plethora of catchy melodies and choruses, blazing guitar work and all-around solid musicianship!Until then, we’ll see you at the shows - join us and let your rock n’ roll demons out!

One can clearly hear the influence of such bands as Therapy?, Guns n’ Roses, Alice in Chains and Black Album / Load-era Metallica in SOCIAL STAIN‘s music. As the band consists of seasoned veterans with hundreds of gigs between them, there are no dull moments or shoegazing at SOCIAL STAIN shows – only total rock n’ roll action!
