Year : 1991 (Japan Edition)
Style : Melodic Hard Rock , Hard FM
Country : Belgium
Audio : 320 kbps + all scans + Video
Size : 170 mb

Bio:

Mystery were formed by ex-members of respected Heavy Metal outfits Ostrogoth and Crossfire. The band had quite a runaround, with their debut album being released first in South America by Toco International then Japan before a final European release through ARS Productions. Mystery recorded a single “She Likes Double Trouble” for the soundtrack to the movie “Koko Flanel”, reached #9 in the Belgian national charts. If you are fan of bands Zinatra, Shagarack and 1st Avenue then don’t miss this one!!!The band toured Europe supporting GLENN HUGHES. By 1998 De Wint had re-emerged fronting AFFAIR for the ‘Face To Face’ album. MYSTERY bassist Joris Holderbeke joined the CHARLES TRAVEAUX BLUES band.

Album:

Amazing melodic album. If you're into keyboard dominated melodic rock, then this is one bunch you'll need to track down. The Zinatra like keyboard attack can be heard on the superb 'Keep On Rollin'. Love this one! Mind you, the next track 'One Way To Rock' is cool too, big keyboard layers and cutting guitars! And where would we be without a ballad on an album like this? Well thankfully Mystery deliver us 'Forever', full of ambient pianos and stirring lyrics. Fantastic stuff!! AOR Freaky and Freddy would love this. "The land of mystery" is a very good song near SKAGARACK's best songs (on their first 2 albums) but the next one "Please don't leave me now" reminds me on a nursery rhyme. The refrain and als the keyboard is so tutling, it's anoying as if a little boy makes his first ever keyboard experiences. "Eclipse" is a nice instrumental in the vain of SKAGARACK's "Dreaming" or McAuley SG's "There has to be another way" or Y.MALMSTEEN's "Brothers" just to mention the first 3 tracks. --So it's a very cheesy ("Forever")and a "wanna be a cool guy" ("Keep on rollin'") album at the most times. The MYSTERY-s/t album is DEFINITIVELY one of them which you need to have in your collection if you wanna have all the best european melodickrock stuff together ! No second meaning. It might, of course, not be everyone's favourite taste - but that's another question. But saying this is not SKAGARACK like -at least at lots of times- is incorrect.

Album:

Phantastic album, as fas as I am concerned ! It has everything I want to hear in Melodic Hardrock. Great tunes, guitars, keys, a ballad here and there. Just listen to the power ballad "You and I". Wow !! Other outstanding tracks are "No more Tears" and "Time".Overall, this is heavier and probably a little bit better than the debut. For me they still missed the mark, but Harry Hess contributes a bit here and adds a bit of spice to the proceedings. Still, pretty average hard rock if you ask me, and not in the Skagarak / Treat / DaVinci (Please note, WITHOUT the killer hooks of those bands!!!) mould of the first album. This is heavier and more direct hard rock rather than AOR.Highly recommended!!
