Created in 2005, with three albums released (Psycho Samurai, Street Law, The Devil’s Bandit), Split Heaven is one of the most solid bands in the actual heavy metal scene. They combine thundering speed, '80s metal riffs, battle solos and high-pitched vocals to create a vicious monster ready to bite, infect and spread the word of Heavy Metal.The band have performed several gigs around the world in tours and festivals such as Wacken Open Air 2009, A.O.S.M.A.T Brazilian Tour 2010, Swordbrothers Festival / European Tour 2012, Vive Latino 2013, BÄÄÄM Festival / European Tour 2014 and in Mexico with some of the most important bands in the worldwide metal scene, becoming one of the strongest heavy metal bands in their country.The release of the 4th album with new singer Jason Conde-Houston will be between 2015 & 2016 via Pure Steel Records.

Anyone who has been involved with releases in the heavy metal underground in recent years is undoubtedly familiar with the Mexicans Split Heaven. The band from Santiago de Querétaro has existed since 2003 and is now releasing longplayer number 5 with Electric Spell.Stylistically, Split Heaven offer us traditional material that should make every genre fan happy. What is special about this record is the playful class of all the players as well as some aha effects. The latter are already audible in the opener "Gerudo Valley", which transports us to Central America with wonderful acoustic guitars. I love bands that make references to their homeland - after all, that's how you stand out from the crowd. In this context, the Spanish-language "Revolucion" should also be mentioned, in which there is a small excursion into Mexican history.In general, Split Heaven have the ability to create catchy, fresh-sounding heavy metal anthems - if you don't believe it, just give the grandiose "Sacred Fire" or the following "Soul Possessor" and "The Haunted Palace" a run through. Here, as in almost all songs, everything fits: a catchy chorus, pithy riffs and rousing, melodic leads. Whoever opens an album with such a trio has plenty of gunpowder in his depot. And Split Heaven have that - even the title track, placed immediately before the closing instrumental "Immolation", for example, is just a lot of fun on a high level!Is there also a weak point? No! The sound is crisp and fits the music excellently. The same goes for the rather colourful cover, which I personally like very much. So you could also put the record on your shelf as a vinyl jewel.Conclusion: Split Heaven once again present us with a heavy metal record full of class, passion and joie de vivre. To keep it personal: It gave me a lot of strength in a very dark moment! It is inexplicable to me, not only because of this, why the quartet is not booked much more often for bigger festivals. That the guys have a sense of humour on top of that is proven by the band-pics, which increase the sympathy factor even more. With this in mind: Buy Electric Spell, preferably today - this is Champions League music! ¡Viva México!
