Style : Heavy Metal , Female vocals
Country : Spain
Audio : 320 kbps + front
Size : 142 mb

Bio:

Rave in Fire began in late 2015 when Jaime and Jonjo had a very clear idea in mind: form a heavy metal band. After finding a first line-up, they record their first EP ‘Chronicle of a timeless End’ in February 2018 and defend their sound live on stage. From then on, there are several line-up changes until 2020, when Sele takes her new role as a singer and Sara as a bass player. This gives the band a whole new perspective and thrust to compose a more ambitious album that gathers all the musicality and power from each of the new members. As a reborn band, Rave in Fire records its last release ‘Sons of a Lie’, a LP produced and engineered by Jonjo that is distributed through the label Iron Oxide.

Album:

Rave In Fire is a heavy metal band from Spain formed in 2015, releasing their debut E.P. ‘Chronicle Of A Timeless End’ in 2018. After several line-up changes including a new singer, the band’s debut full-length album ‘Sons Of A Lie’ was released in 2022.Featuring eight songs over a blistering thirty-six minutes, ‘Sons Of A Lie’ (the album) has a sound and feel that was prevalent during heavy metal’s formative years – the glorious eighties! Album opener ‘Shout’ begins with an epic mood-setting crescendo before exploding into life with a rollicking riff, proceeding to gallop forth with pace and power. Scorching by at breakneck speed, ‘Shout’ has a rabble-rousing call to arms chorus that’ll go down a fucking storm in a live arena. The title song ‘Sons Of A Lie’ is much more melodic than ‘Shout’ – yet keeps the sound and vibe of traditional metal well and truly alive. And with just two songs gone, heavy metal traditionalists will find this album very attractive – ’cause no doubt like me, the old school sound is what beats in your heart! The classic guitar sound of the legendary NWOBHM greets the ears, as ‘Bite The Fire’ roams free, a torrent of “foot on the monitor” styled heavy metal cascading forth. Rave In Fire may be from mainland Europe where power metal is usually on offer, but the band has definitely chosen to pursue the path of traditional heavy metal. Straddling the border of metal and rock, ‘The Healer’ is a pulsating mid-tempo swagger of bombastic news! Everything about ‘The Healer’ points to a healthy attraction for fans of both genres, the infectious level as high now as it was at the album’s beginning. Keeping the rockier feel going, ‘Never Forget’ is as punchy as a furious sparring match between two aggressive boxers – the band weaving a sultry path all around the heavy metal genre. And the blistering turn of speed toward the end of ‘Never Forget’ is sensational! Get those heads banging metalheads! The pace and power double for the red hot ‘Set Me Free’ – bouncing along like an excited kid upon a space hopper! Probably the most attractive and infectious of all the songs on offer, ‘Set Me Free’ is so head bangingly addictive, I challenge you to not headbang – haha, you just can’t! It’s as head-bangingly addictive as Megadeth’s ‘Symphony Of Destruction. And with no let-up in the album’s traditional metal vibe, ‘Memories’ is a corker, highly reminiscent of early eighties Rock Goddess – the sound and feel exactly the same as the NWOBHM legends. The final song ‘The Last Night’, differs from everything that has gone before – with the galloping foot on the monitor style of metal replaced by err, balladry! Now regular readers will know what’s coming next! Ballads are for rock albums, not metal ones – with Rave In Fire ending their debut album with a lighter in the air moment. A moment that is somewhat anthemic and sings along, bordering on the “let’s all sing together” ethos.Overall, a hard-hitting and punchy array of old-school, traditional heavy metal songs.

Album:

Rave In Fire are an upcoming female-fronted traditional metal band formed in Madrid in 2015. With their first complete line-up an EP called »Chronicle Of A Timeless End« was released in 2018. This was followed by their first full-length album »Sons Of A Lie« in April 2022 (put out by Iron Oxide), the turning point in the band’s career. In 2024, Rave In Fire celebrated their German live debut, playing at the long-standing Trvheim festival. Musically Rave In Fire have been inspired by veteran Spanish heavy metal bands Barón Rojo and Obús, but also newer homegrown acts like Witchtower, Leather Heart, Steelhorse or Hitten. The band’s brand-new studio album »Square One« is now scheduled to be released via High Roller Records. “Just like »Sons Of A Lie«, it’s a fully self-produced album,” Rave In Fire say. “The recording, production, mastering, and most of the songwriting was done by Jonjo Negrete, our guitarist and producer. The drums were recorded at California Studios in Madrid. All songs were performed by the current members of the band; no one else took part.” Songs like “Dark Poison”, “Knightwalker” or the high-energy “Speed And Rave” roughly sound like Leather Leone-fronted Chastain mixed with early 80s Scorpions and a bit of Dio thrown in for good measure, while the title track “Square One’ is the grand epic of the album, flirting with prog metal. “We believe it’s a continuation of the path we have carved for ourselves on the predecessor,” the band says, “with a slightly more experimental touch. Without losing the essence of the band, we’ve explored some new directions to keep growing as musicians. The main difference between »Square One« and its predecessor is that »Sons Of A Lie« was an album conceived for two guitars (we recorded it when we were still a five-piece band). »Square One«, in return, revolves less around guitars and gives a lot of space to the rest of the instruments. Likewise, »Square One« explores paths close to progressive, thrash and speed metal, while »Sons Of A Lie« was following a more conservative approach.”
