Born in Glen Cove, New York 1968, the son of a bona fide hippie mom had music in his blood since day one. Not only the Beatles and the Stones and rock anthems of that era had influenced him. He was already a very small roadie on tour with mom who toured as a singer in various bands through America in the 70s. On that one day when the drummer put drumsticks in his little hands, something magical had happened to him.As a young guy, now living in Enfield, Connecticut, his older brother influenced his musical taste with the likes of Black Sabbath , Aerosmith , Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were now his heroes . The world between Southern rock and heavy metal made this young musician’s heart pound. And when he finally, not only heard but felt the thundering drums of a marching band at a parade, his mind was set. He was going to be a drummer.In school his grades, caused by extreme boredom, were mediocre, but he could regain merit with his abilities as a percussionist.With his enlistment in the U.S. Army a whole new life began for him. He was stationed for four years in the Bavarian Army post, Grafenwoehr . Before the first Iraq war, he had fulfilled his enlistment time and set up camp permanently in Germany . The reason he gives- with an innocent wink - German beer.From now on music had again played a major role in his life, even though it was part time. He couldn’t make a living as a musician when he took his first job as a drummer in his first band, but he got the opportunity to discover his qualities as a singer . During a rehearsal, destiny had Dave standing in for the singer that was to show up a little later. And from then on he was a front man on vocals, as well as for his next band, Voices, in which he finds himself performing his debüt before a crowd of 2,500 fans.A few years later his life was to change drastically as the “Bavarian-NewYorker moved from Bavaria to Baden Wuerrtemberg, Germany. At this point he made his hobby (music) to his profession. At various music schools in and around Schwäbisch Gmünd he has been teaching vocals, drums and guitar. He also coaches young bands as well.Dave Schaefer is a music - workaholic . Although he loves to teach, his passion to perform live on stage has always been immense. He’s been doing this for years with great success and enthusiasm in various band projects . First, there are the Candy's, with whom he plays skilful covers for galas and parties. He covers classic rock songs with the relatively new band Oxford Circus. As “Dave–Man” he performs unplugged gigs. And last but not least, The Dave-Man Band with whom he interprets new and classic rock and soul hits . And it’s also this band that is in the production of Dave Schaefer’s first solo album " Sea of Dreams ".In addition to front man Dave Schaefer, who reveals a deep insight into his soul with the compositions and lyrics, are not only to be heard on the CD but live as well, :Nico Schliemann on guitar. ( Glasperlenspiel, Dicke Kinder , Soulyla and Dave-Man Band ) Benni Jud on bass. ( He’s been an active musical director of the youth musical project JuMP and has also performed at many major musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar and of course with the Dave-Man Band.The first, the new, the brilliant: " Sea of Dreams "Dave Schaefer – full-blooded musician , rock star, all-rounder and artist, composer, lyricist and singer . He is awesome, full of enthusiasm and emotion! He wants to spread his message for all to hear. So he sits down many long nights in his home studio and let’s it rip. What came out are songs that can be described as southern rock, metal, and soul.Everything is dead on, it’s totally Dave : positive, cheerful, nonconformist, rebellious, loving and tender, versatile. A musician and man that spreads a good mood wherever he shows up. And that’s what he wants to show with his music,. That life can be beautiful and fun.
