Austrian melodic band around Freddy Gigele, Mario Bottazzi and David Bronner.Band was only active for two years 1988-1990.Freddy Gigele became producer and owns a record studio ("Mediasound Studio") in Vienna.

Freddy Gigele (* 6. Jänner 1961) in Zams.Freddy Gigele was born on 6 January 1961 to the mountain farming family Josef and Anna Gigele in the municipality of Zams in the Upper Inn Valley and grew up in the small village of Kauns in the Kaunertal valley. Already as a child he practised drumming on a self-made drum kit consisting of cans and lids and sang in the local church. At the age of eleven, he already had his first public performances and learned to play various instruments. Gigele, who had come to music mainly through his primary school teacher, started on the accordion at the age of five, was a precentor in the church at the age of seven, was a drummer in the rifle company and then in the music band at the age of eight, and later also learned the trumpet, trombone and guitar; all this as a self-taught musician. At the age of 14 he had gigs with the Kauntaler Buam, where he played several instruments. Soon after, Gigele founded a few bands of his own. After founding his first band at the age of eleven, his father, who didn't think much of musicians, pushed him into an apprenticeship as a cook (at the Schwarzer Adler in Landeck), but Freddy Gigele dropped out after one and a half years. He kept his head above water financially by working as a DJ, as a ski instructor in Serfaus or as an unskilled construction worker. At the end of the 1970s he was one of the founding members of the Tyrolean hard rock band No Bros, which had already existed before under the name Target from 1974.After a few years with No Bros, in which he acted as singer and composer, the first commercial successes came and the real breakthrough followed in 1981 with the album Heavy Metal Party, he moved to Vienna in the same year, where he married his first wife, who came from an academic family, the following year at the age of 22 and had a daughter with her. Immediately following his success with the new album, he was involved in the soundtrack for Niki List's 1982 film Café Malaria. Before that, he had toured Europe with the band for about five years and was discovered by an ORF employee at one of these concerts in his home country. No Bros disbanded in 1986. Gigele released the single "Day after Day" in 1987.He had already studied two semesters (1984/85) at the Vienna Conservatory at this time.Shortly afterwards he was discovered once again; this time when he played a song at a children's event and an ORF employee offered him to write signations for the station. Thus, under Teddy Podgorski's era, he was employed as a music composer for Niki List's cult film Müllers Büro, among others, in the same year and wrote ten music titles for the film.

Album:

This is a collection of material by REDLOCK, a melodic band from Austria. It was self-produced by Mario Bottazzi (vocals) and David Bronner (keyboards).Although the band was only active for two years (1988-1990), they have produced some very high quality music. What I can say for sure is that the quality of the music is very high. The melodies are a bit thin, but they are very skillful in creating the atmosphere and the world view that surrounds the songs themselves. It's a sound that makes you feel at peace when you listen to it.Recorded At – Olympia Studios Austria.
