Bio:

Moon'Doc was a german melodic hard rock and heavy metal band around the guitarist and producer Herman Frank (Accept, Victory) from Hannover.Moon'Doc was founded in 1994 by Herman Frank with vocalist Chris Bay, bassist Ilker Ersin and drummer Robert Jöcks. 1995 appeared the first album Moon'Doc, followed in 1996 by Get Mooned. In 1998, Chris Bay and Ilker Ersin left the band to form Freedom Call. The third and final album entitled Realm of Legends was therefore recorded with a modified line-up, namely singer Jürgen Wulfes, bassist Frank Haase, drummer Fritz Randow and keyboarder Ossy Pfeiffer. It appeared in 2000.

Album:

This is some very powerful & aggressive melodic metal. Take the in-your-face style of early Skid Row, crank everything up a few more notches, and you've got a good idea of the sound MOONDOC is aiming for. Herman Frank handles the guitars and they are simply monstrous, ripping off one killer riff after another, while vocalist Chris Bay pours on the pissed-off attitude. If you like your melodic metal with a very hard & heavy edge, then this band will make you howl with happiness. With the debut of Moon'doc Schwarzgurt-Axeman Herman Frank and his three new musicians colleague a real cracker succeeded, which noticeably enriches the trendy domestic melodic metal scene. And the emphasis is clearly on "Metal". The boys have succeeded in doing a balancing act that blends the musical legacy of two recently "disappeared" bands: Victory and Pink Cream 69. While the Riffpower is logically reminiscent of the works of the Hanoverian band, Hermans Ex-Band, which was disbanded in 1993 , surprised especially the varied voice of frontman Chris Bay, the songs like 'Forever In Eternity' or 'Daylight' sound, as Andi Deris borrowed his tuning fork some time ago. "Moon'Dog", rich and fat produced in old Victory tradition, transported steel Heavyness and mostly successful, versatile song ideas with various highlights (only the balladesque 'Children Gonna Die' slightly pompous from the frame), the no comparison to shy need. After the successful new album by Gamma Ray, Rage and Blind Guardian the next hammer from the local blacksmith's workshop. Who the fuck needs punk'n'grunge?
