Bio:

Pretty Maids are a Danish hard rock/heavy metal band from Horsens, Denmark. Formed in 1981 by Ronnie Atkins and Ken Hammer, their sound and music can be described as classic guitar-laden heavy rock with a strong emphasis on melodic elements like vocals and keyboards.Over the years, Pretty Maids have sold hundreds of thousands of records, but have never broken through in a major way, except in Japan during the 1990s. They have supported well known bands as Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, and Saxon, and were also featured at the 1987 German version of Monsters of Rock, where Metallica headlined along with Deep Purple. After a prolonged international touring hiatus before the release of the 2006 Wake Up To The Real World album, the band have every year since been touring their primary markets of Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and Spain. In March 2014, Pretty Maids are going to release their 13th studio album Louder Than Ever.

Album:

First 6 songs of this album are the one of their first LP, plus they added stuff that was originally printed only for Japan. They added also three live songs (really cool songs actually). You will have the opportunity, for the ones who still don't know Pretty Maids, to ear the sound of the 80's. But most importantly, you will discover that some bands of the actual "True Metal" wave are far beyond Pretty Maids. One of the best Scandinavian bands ever. If they could only stop experiencing new thing each time. After all, our dream (fans) is very simple : give us a second "Red, hot and heavy" or "Future World" as soon as possible. That's all we are asking. There are CDs that are urgently needed, no question. The re-release of the PRETTY MAIDS debut EP - released in 1983 by the unspeakable British Indie Bullet Records - was overdue. Almost without exception, the really big bands in music history have already played their talents on their debut as young, up and coming musicians - regardless of whether they are called Maiden, Leppard, Raven, Metallica or Metal Church. Undoubtedly the PRETTY MAIDS belong to this category. Without the Melody Firecracker like 'Fantasy' or the legendary 'Children Of Tomorrow', the Danish drawer in your collection is definitely incomplete. This gap would therefore be closed. Divide number two for die-hard fans (to match the horrible Christmas bustle of the labels): the two tracks of the 1990 Christmas EP "In Santa's Claws". Who - in contrast to the atheist bunch in the Rock Hard Office - actually grafted candles on pine cones for Christmas, should not miss the title track and the co-sung by Purple-Fronter Ian Gillan 'Merry Jingle'. Do you have to try it out loud at the family's get-together? Even the great-grandma with his metal fist straightened around the tinsel spruce until the doctor arrives. Jaha! 100 percent PRETTY MAIDS, who make great connections between the two albums of the Savatage Side Project TSO and the notorious "X-Mas Metal Massacre". Like, you do not know Sabina Classen's Röchel-Growl-Version of 'Quiet trickling of the snow' yet? Or Rage-Peavy's hyperspeed fistula variant of 'Once we're still awake'? But then quickly to the next second hand shop! Is still out nationwide, the stuff. Jüp! Where was I? Oh yes: The Maids sampler is rounded off by three numbers of the godlike '95s double live album' Screamin 'Live "and the Slade cover' Far Far Away ', by copyshop artists Ken, Ronnie & Co. KG used to be princely. And since we have been allowed to put grades under republications since Götzl's censorship reform, there's a hefty eight-toed five at this point despite the somewhat crude compilation for "First Cuts ... And Then Some". Happy Holiday!
