Nasty Nasty is a glam sleaze hard rock band from Illinois, USA.Not to be confused with Nasty Nasty from Pennsylvania.Bassist & songwriter Shomidie formed Nasty Nasty in 1989 with with Donnie Dobbinson drums, guitarist Trevor Reynolds and vocalist Tim Whalen, and together they released two indie CDs, played in 23 states and built a reputation for opening for national acts such as Bad Company, Black Oak Arkansas, L.A. Guns, etc, but a record deal never came.This American quartet arrived on the scene in the early 1990s and already had two disadvantages: first, they released their debut studio album, Get Some!!!, on a small label (Emy Recordings). Second, they had a double name, which was quite common, even clichéd, at the time.Get Some!!! was released in 1990, and the least we can say is that its cover is very minimalist, not at all sophisticated. To top it all off, the band listed the names of each of the musicians involved on the cover, which is not commonplace.“Not Hard To Swallow” NASTY NASTY’s second album from 1991, where the band honed their skills in delivering a rocking brand of glam hard rock, heavier than the hair metal pop scene yet still catchy and commercial.

“Not Hard To Swallow” NASTY NASTY’s second album from 1991, where the band honed their skills in delivering a rocking brand of glam metal, heavier than the hair metal pop scene yet still catchy and commercial.With a vocalist (Tim Whalen, RIP) which was like a cross between Cinderella’s Tom Keifer and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, sharp guitar riffs and cool melodies, NASTY NASTY rocked harder than the typical sleazy / hair metal American band.Sure, there’s some Slaughter, Cinderella, Ratt, Bulletboys, etc into their sound, however the approach is always more punchy. Hailing from Springfield, Illinois, NASTY NASTY toured all over the States between 1990-1991 and that helped to transform the 4-piece into an oiled machine.Songs like Shake All Night, Give It To You, Rock And Roll Highway, or Naughty Naughty Girl rock hard with sleazy power. While production / mix isn’t perfect, “Not Hard To Swallow” sounds good for a self-managed product, and rocks with the adrenalin of a band hungry for bigger things.Out of print, “Not Hard To Swallow” has become hard to find with used copies being sold for over $100.
