Bio:

Stone Gods is a British hard rock band from East Anglia, England. It was formed by the three former members of The Darkness, Dan Hawkins (brother of Justin Hawkins, now frontman of Hot Leg), Richie Edwards and Ed Graham. Their debut album Silver Spoons and Broken Bones was released on 7 July 2008. The band will cease its activities in 2010.After Justin Hawkins left The Darkness in 2006, the three remaining members of the band decided to form a new band from the ashes of The Darkness. Richie Edwards made the jump from bass to vocals and guitar, with Hawkins' long-time friend Tobby MacFarlaine taking over the bass role from Edwards. The band began working on new material between late 2006 and early 2007. No information was revealed about the band, not even the name. Finally, it was the English magazine Classic Rock that revealed the name of the band, Stone Gods, and that it was composed of the former members of the band The Darkness. The band was a support act for Thin Lizzy. In January 2008, the band went on a headline tour, touring all over the UK, announcing the release of a debut two-track EP. In March 2008, the band played two major London dates opening for Velvet Revolver. The band finally released their debut album, entitled Silver Spoons and Broken Bones on 7 July 2008 on the independent label PIAS1. Critically acclaimed, Classic Rock magazine declared "One of the best debut albums of the millennium", Metal Hammer added "the epitome of something wonderful emerging from adversity", Kerrang! explained "A distillation of all the things that make a great rock album".On 10 June 2008 Stone Gods were due to embark on their world tour, but the first three dates in Liverpool, Cardiff and Bristol, were cancelled due to an "urgent health issue" with drummer Ed Graham. When the tour began, Graham had still not returned, and former Bush drummer Robin Goodridge replaced him. Stone Gods missed the Wacken Open Air after Goodridge was still unable to get behind the drums. In July 2008, Graham left the band for good, and Goodridge officially became the new Stone Gods drummer, leaving Dan the only original member of The Darkness. In November 2008, Stone Gods toured with Australian band Airbourne on UK dates. Hawkins joining Airbourne on stage for a cover of AC/DC's Whole Lotta Rosie on 28 November 2008, with Hawkins taking over the guitar from Joel O'Keeffe. The band then joined Black Stone Cherry on their UK tour. The band will release a new album in 2009, with the majority of the songs already written.By 2010, the band was struggling to continue. In 2012, former drummer Ed Graham noted, "I know they did a second album that Dan wanted to release at some point. I don't think we'll ever get back together but if this second album comes out then maybe we'll come back"
