Temple Balls is an energetic hard rock band from Finland.For the past couple of years Temple Balls has kept busy, both in the studio and on the stage. Opening for such bands like Queen, Deep Purple and Uriah Heep, the band has proven to be more than able to handle big stages as well. Whether it be a big festival or your local club’s stage, the band will set your friggin’ pants on fire. The first official single ’ Hell And Feelin’ Fine ’ was released on September 1st 2016 and got loads of airtime on Finnish Radio Rock. The debut album was recorded at Karma Sound Studios (Thailand) on May 2016, and saw the daylight on February 24th 2017.’Traded Dreams’ was released via Finnish record label Ranka Kustannus whose captain is the founder of Spinefarm Records – the label behind such acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom etc. After the release in Finland the album was put out in Germany on May 5th via SoulFood Music and December 15th in Japan via Ward records. The album was produced by Tobias Lindell, who is known for his collaborations with such bands like Europe, Mustasch and H.E.A.T.The fall of 2017 started with a sold-out tour across Finland with a big heavy metal magnet Battle Beast. The band also played in Japan for the first time and did a 5-day tour of Ukraine in late 2017. In April 2018 the guys did a two week tour across the Baltics and Eastern-Europe.After their first show in Japan the readers of the biggest rock magazine Burrn voted TB as ‘the 2nd brightest hope’ and were chosen as ‘The newcomer of the year’ on Masa Ito’s Rock TV.‘Kill the Voice’ was released on November 2nd 2018 and was the first official single from their second album and got a good response immediately after its release and was put on a few big Spotify playlists. The second single ‘Distorted Emotions’ dropped on February 8th 2019 with a bang. The music video for ‘Distorted Emotions’ was shot by Ville Juurikkala and it’ll be out in the near future, right before TBs’ second album release ‘Untamed’, which will drop on March 8th 2019.

“Temple Balls‘ long anticipated 2nd album ‘Untamed‘ will be released in Finland on March 8th via Ranka Kustannus and Ward Records in Japan. The album is produced by Jona Tee (H.E.A.T), engineered by Pasi Kauppinen (Sonata Arctica) and mixed by Tobias Lindell.Album artwork by Jan ‘Örkki’ Yrlund / Darkgrove.”During the 80s, the commercial success of QUIET RIOT’s “Metal Health” (the first Metal album to reach the top of Billboard’s parade on history) and DEF LEPPARD’s “Pyromania” started an invasion of Glam Metal/Hard Rock bands, with the focus on Californian scene (Sunset Boulevard was a Mecca for the genre on those days). But in the beginning of the 90s, the genre almost died during Grunge Rock success years. In the past decade, the genre came back to life, but the poles that breed new bands changed to Sweden and Finland. This is the reason for names as TEMPLE BASS, a Finnish quintet from Uolo, came and used their creative talent to create new Glam Metal/Hard Rock albums as “Untamed”, their second and latest release.We can say that they carry a strong influence from the mix of Glam Metal from the 80s with some touches from Hard Rock from the 70s. It’s really filled with a nasty energy, but always with charming melodies, great choruses and backing vocals. But their energy is excellent, sounding alive and being far from sounding as a bunch of guys who misses the 80s. No, they’re great, indeed, and their music sounds amazing. The sound quality of “Untamed” is really great, catching all their musical elements and bounding them into something that can be aggressive, melodic and clean, and with the right heavy touches. The set of instrumental tunes is really excellent, too, for they sound alive and modern, fitting into something that wouldn’t sound like in the past. So, it can be said as a nice work from Tobias Lindell (who mixed and mastered the album).Be prepared for a massive sound adorned with charming melodies, and a touch of feline aggressiveness in many moments. But the Glam impact of “Infinity” (what lovely melodies, great vocals and backing vocals), the commercial insight of “Distorted Emotions” (an accessible song, with excellent work from bass guitar and drums), the nasty energy and excellent guitars of “Pauline” (how lovely sounds the solos), the modern vibe of “Leap of Faith” (it will remind some of the albums from the end of Glam Metal successful era), the catchy musical outfit of “Hoist the Colours” (another great chorus, and some AOR influences can be heard on the melodies), and energetic shot given by “Badlands” are their finest moments in a album with all songs being their finest shots.“Untamed” is amazing, and (in a personal opinion of this writer) unfortunately, it won’t be released in Brazil, because it made of me a fan of their work.
