Bio:
At a time when so much rock music is defined according to a specific genre or sub-genre, it’s refreshing for a new band to come along who are both happy and proud to be called simply ‘rock’… and when that band are just 18 years old, then the project becomes very exciting indeed: classic sounds filtered through young hearts an’ minds.A five-strong outfit based in the Cambridge area of the UK, The Treatment are indeed tender in years, but you’d never guess that from the quality of their song-writing or the confident swagger of their live show. It’s only really the exuberance and in-built energy of their playing that gives the game away, adding a fresh-faced twist to some deeply classic grooves.Combining the drive of early Def Leppard with the song-writing ability of prime UFO and Thin Lizzy, the whole thing underpinned by the sort of low-slung riffing redolent of early Aerosmith or G n’ R, The Treatment are unashamedly inspired by an era when rock bands looked like rock bands and were generally intent on causing a stir (both onstage and off); an era when the lifestyle was important, when music was everything and when vinyl was king.
Album:
March 22 is the release date for British hard rock five-piece THE TREATMENT new album "Power Crazy" via Frontiers Music, while this advanced Japanese edition including 2 bonus tracks will appear tomorrow."Power Crazy" is the band's fourth full-length album and continues their successful formula of coupling sonic power with a taste for infectious riffs. With this record, The Treatment is firing on all cylinders with its slice of no-frills hard rock. A quick listen will instantly reveal the essential ingredients of a classic hard rock album: riffs, huge choruses, catchy licks, and straight to the point songs."Power Crazy" is also The Treatment's first album to feature new singer Tom Rampton. With his raspy voice in the best classic rock tradition, you can rest assured he knows how to ride high on the guitar attack from guitarists Tao and Tagore Grey.Blasting off with “Lets Get Dirty” is a pure form hard rock number that sets the scene for the rest of the album, as the drums thunder, guitars wail with toe tapping rhythm and the vocals scream perfectly in sync. Hard edged tune plenty of attitude.“On The Money” adds a bluesy touch, like a potty mouthed ZZ Top if you will, but goodness me, it's catchy. To that end, by the time next track “Bite Back” has done its thing you might well have your fists in the air like you just don’t care and look, “Hang ‘Em High” is about as unapologetic as rock n roll gets.Back to a slower and bluesier feel is “Luck Of The Draw”, a beautifully delivered midtempo with very nice guitars. With a title like “Scar With Her Name” you think about a ballad. Nope. Actually, this is a romp that The Cult would have sold millions with in the '80s, and “King Of The City” is a proper slab of NWOBHM. The heaviest thing they’ve ever done, and rocks. And if “Power Crazy” largely isn’t arsed with introspection whatsoever, then “Waiting for The Call” comes on a bit like early Whitesnake, and is a slower thing, with some soaring harmonies, but even here they can’t resist the hook-line: “let’s beat them all…..”“Power Crazy” has to be one of the best classic Hard Rock albums of the year already. They have delivered an album utterly full of excellent standalone tracks, twelve to be exact (with a bonus acoustic for physical CD, plus an extra one for this Japan release) and prove they are far from stingy to their fans. Not only that, there is not a single filler song on this album. Yes some are stronger than others, but even the weakest song fully stands on its own two feet.Years ago The Treatment was one if the biggest promising classic hard rock bands from UK.They faced some troubles, delays, change of personnel... 2019 looks good for them. “Power Crazy” sounds like they’re ready for anything, to make it big.
