Bobby Messano (b. June 23, 1954 ) is an American artist, guitarist and musician. He has recorded and toured with STARZ, Lou Gramm, Steve Winwood,Clarence Clemons, Franke and the Knockouts, and Peter Criss. Messano was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and his family lived in nearby Ridgefield Park, New Jersey until he went to college in Maryland. In 1976, Messano joined the band Stanky Brown who were signed to Sire Records and managed by John Scher. Stanky Brown toured with Boston, The Allman Brothers, Outlaws, and NRPS. Messano recorded with the band on their third and final record on Sire, called "Stanky Brown".Messano then joined STARZ who were signed to Capitol Records and Aucoin management. STARZ toured for 1978-79 and released Coliseum Rock. Bobby then moved into session work, working with Gloria Gaynor, Peter Criss, Michael Pare', Robey, and Benny Mardones. He joined Franke & The Knockouts in 1981. In 1983 Bobby was Music Director for Steve Winwood on his UK and European tour.In 1985, Messano started working with Joe Lynn Turner and Fiona and played on both their CD's "Rescue You" and "Fiona". He toured with Joe Lynn Turner and played guitar on Fiona's sophomore record Beyond The Pale. He then played on Glen Burtnick's "Talking In Code" record and toured with him. He played guitar on Clarence Clemons Hero Album and played the only guitar solo on the Big-Man's LP . In 1987 Messano was asked to tour on the Lou Gramm (Foreigner) "Ready or Not" tour in the U.S. and Germany. He also was putting the finishing touches on his 1989 "MESSANO: CD which was released by Strategic/Relativity in 1989. In 1990 Bobby toured Germany with Robin Beck.Messano was inducted into the Delaware Blues Hall Of Fame in 2012 and "That's Why I Don't Sing the Blues" was the #1 U.S. release on the Blues Underground 2012 US Blues Rock Chart. Bobby continues to play about 135 shows a year and continues to place songs in TV and cable shows.In July/August 2015 "Love and Money" was in Billboard Top 10 Blues Albums, for 6 weeks, reaching #1 on August 8.In August 2015 Bobby Messano "Love & Money" was nominated for a Blues Blast Award for Rock Blues Album Of The Year On April 15, 2017 "Bad Movie" was released and debuted at #1 on Sirius/XM B.B. King's Bluesville and stayed in the Top 40 on the Roots Music Charts Blues Rock Album Chart for 10 months.On November 16, 2017 Bobby's Bad Movie song won a prestigious Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) for Blues.

Originally released in 1989, cult melodic rock album "Messano" gets a 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition remastered reissue including 5 bonus tracks.The decades-long career of respected guitarist Bobby MESSANO picked up steam in the mid-to-late-'70s with acts such as Stanky Brown and Starz. Gravitating toward session work around 1980, Bobby would contribute to albums from a range of different artists — Peter Criss, Joe Lynn Turner, all Fiona '80s albums, Tycoon, etc — as well as touring alongside heavyweights like Steve Winwood, Lou Gramm, and more.For a portion of that era, Bobby had also joined rockers Franke & The Knockouts, performing (and co-writing two tracks) on their 1984 album, Makin' The Point.Toward the end of the '80s, MESSANO also stepped up to present his debut solo album, having assembled a backing band consisting of bass player Erik Boyd (Denaro), Joey Zee (keyboards), and ex Point Blank's Mike Gage (drums).Ex Rainbow Chuck Burgi guest drums on one track, and other fellow session musicians contribute as well.Recorded with Jim Barg at The Barge Sound Studio in Wayne, NJ, Bobby handled lead vocals, guitar, bass, and the bulk of the songwriting. That being said, two cuts nodded to his past: "Hide Our Love Away (Tell Me Why)" was first recorded by Franke & The Knockouts under the title "Carrie Why?," and "Sing It, Shout It" was a Starz cover from 1977.Other standout tracks are "Hide Our Love", the catchy "Don't Tell Me It's Over", and midtempo "You And I (Are Forever)".For more edge, check out "Sing It, Shout It", and "Face Behind The Axe", showcasing Bobby's skills with the 6-strings.Released by Strategic —a division of Relativity Records— in 1989, this 11-song album has become a bit of a cult classic over the years for fans of top-shelf, hook-fueled melodic hard rock.30 years later, "Messano" gets a proper remastering reissued with a whopping five bonus tracks.Bobby Messano wouldn't release another solo album until 1998 —the blues-based Dominion Roads— but has remained an active and highly regarded force in the Rock community since that time.
