Bio:

The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984.Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band's lineup consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, bassist Todd Morse, guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and drummer Pete Parada. Over the course of their 37-year career, they have released nine studio albums and experienced lineup changes, most noticeably with their drummers. Their longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987, and stayed with the band for 16 years; he was replaced by Atom Willard in 2003, and then four years later by Parada. Gregory "Greg K." Kriesel, one of the co-founders of the Offspring, was their bassist until 2018 when he parted ways due to business disputes with the band, leaving Holland as the sole remaining original member (if the band's history as Manic Subsidal is included). Kriesel was replaced by Todd Morse of H2O, who had been the Offspring's touring guitarist since 2009.The Offspring is often credited—alongside fellow California punk bands Green Day, Rancid, Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise and New York City band Jawbreaker—for reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the 1990s.They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling punk rock bands in history. After achieving a local following with their early releases, including their 1989 self-titled debut album and the vinyl-only EP Baghdad (1991), The Offspring signed with Epitaph Records and released two albums for the independent label, Ignition (1992) and Smash (1994). Smash, which contained the band's first major hit "Come Out and Play", propelled pop punk into the mainstream and holds the distinction as one of the best-selling albums released on an independent record label, selling over eleven million copies worldwide. The success of Smash attracted attention from major labels, including Columbia Records, with whom The Offspring had signed in 1996; their first album for the label, Ixnay on the Hombre (1997), did not match the success of its predecessor, but received critical acclaim and gold and platinum awards. The band's fifth album, Americana (1998), regained their previous level of popularity, obtaining support from MTV and radio, and selling over five million units in the US.The Offspring have since released four more albums: Conspiracy of One (2000), Splinter (2003), Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008) and Days Go By (2012). The band's tenth studio album, Let the Bad Times Roll, will be released on April 16, 2021.

Album:

Days Go By is the ninth studio album by American rock band the Offspring, released on June 25, 2012 by Columbia Records.Produced by Bob Rock, it was the band's first album to feature drummer Pete Parada, who joined a year prior to the release of their previous album Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008), and their last one to feature bassist Greg K. before his split with The Offspring in 2019.The band commenced work on Days Go By in 2009, with plans to release it in 2010. However, its release was pushed back several times while The Offspring continued touring and writing new material. The writing and recording process spanned three years and six recording studios (four in California, one in Hawaii and one in Canada) and was finished in March 2012. During the recording sessions, the Offspring re-recorded "Dirty Magic" (from their 1992 album Ignition), which serves as the album's ninth track.Days Go By's lead single and title track was premiered on radio stations on April 27, 2012, and was released to digital outlets. "Cruising California (Bumpin' in My Trunk)" was the first single from the album worldwide (except for the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland), and was released on April 30, 2012.The album debuted at No.12 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 24,000 in North America.
