Bio:
Agentpunch is a hard rock and heavy metal band from Osnabrück/Germany. It was formed in 2016 to keep good, handcrafted metal music alive. It is, to put it simply, a melting furnace for a lot of different metal and rock styles – starting off long time ago somewhere between Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, further touching upon the spirit of NWOBH’s dimonds such as Iron Maiden and Saxon and finally brutally crashing into and absorbing the power and attitude of Rock ’n‘ Roll-milestone Motörhead.
Album:
Agentpunch are actually Gunslinger, who have already made some of the stage in Osnabrück unsafe. The "Investigation" now appears under the name Agentpunch, also after the tenth round meaningless, as both bands hardly differ.Hard Rock is close to the edge of Heavy Metal, but without any old school chances. The songs can be compared with bands like Motorjesus, Mustasch and Fozzy. The bulk of the material goes straight to the front, like "Stranger Demon", "Thunderbolt" or "Punished". Rotten singing, effective riffs and tidy pressure make for beer and sweat in a smoky pub, sympathy points are also available for the T.S.O.L. cover "In The Wind"!In the intro of the title track, "War Pigs" was clearly inspired, while "Judgment Day" with its changes from Gangshouts and Leadvocals to various New York hardcore representatives, and with a bluesy guitar siren surprised. The last song sounds easy after the cover version, but shows a very different strength of the band: A very catchy chorus with power chords and a lot of cymbals. Already has almost of Social Distortion, while the verses remind more of Gdansk. However, there are also some candidates for the skip key, such as "Hunting Souls" and "Do You Wanna Know". The former is disorganized and hopeless, the latter unimaginative, and bored by the many repetitions towards the end."Investigation" is a pretty good debut album that makes you want more. However, Agentpunch should have consolidated their strengths and come to the point. A few of the weaker songs would not be missed on the album, because then the final result would have been more appealing.
