Bio:

SinHeresY is a symphonic heavy metal band raised in 2009 in Trieste (Italy) from an idea of the bass player Davide Sportiello and the guitar player Lorenzo Pasutto. In the following months the vocalist Cecilia Petrini, the drummer Alex Vescovi and the vocalist Stefano Sain joined the band. With this line-up, SinHeresY started in 2010 their live activity in Italy and Slovenia and realized a home-made demo containing two original songs. Then the band beginned the compositions of new songs, with dark symphonic tones and gothic-prog touches, and SinHeresY entered Studio 73 in Ravenna. They committed themselves to Riccardo Pasini (already working with Extrema, Ephel Duath, BeerBong) for the recordering of their official debut EP "The Spiders And The Butterfly".In October the band signed a distribution contract with the label Revalve Records and a management deal with K2 Music Management. At the same time the keyboard player Daniele Girardelli joined the band, thus completing the line-up."The Spiders And The Butterfly" gained immediately general approval from critics and public. It was elected best demo of the month by the prestigious italian Metal Maniac magazine. In February 2012 SinHeresY shot the official video of "Temptation Flame", under the direction of Marco Tessarolo and Mario Orman, and the lyric video of "Forever Us", also directed by Mario Orman. In April the band opened in Trieste the first gig of Seventh Wonder's italian tour.In the meanwhile they started the composition of the songs of their first full-length. For the new album they decided to underline the "cinematic" side of the band, tuning down the dark components which characterized the previous release in favour of a wider variety of atmospheres and themes, with a costant development of a personal and more mature sound. With this aim they called the composer and arranger Lorenzo Visintin, who wrote the orchestral tessitura of the songs. At the end of the pre-production phase, in January 2013 the band started a mini-tour as headliners across the baltic nations, where the new songs, presented for the first time, were welcomed with excellent opinions. In June of the same year the band revealed the title of the album, "Paint the World", and signed with Bakerteam Records for its release, scheduled for September 30th. The full-length was recorded between Ravenna's Fear Studio (Blaze Bayley, DGM) and Studio 73, and Trieste's Fandango Sound Studio and Urban Recording Studio. Then the album was mixed and mastered in Sweden, at Varberg's Fascination Street Studios, by Johan Örnborg and Jens Bogren (Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Paradise Lost)."Paint the World" was praised as "one of the best symphonic power/gothic metal releases of 2013" and the band promoted it with several live performances all around Italy and Europe. Starting from an incredibly successful release-party in their hometown, SinHeresY then played in a special acoustic set as opening act for Anathema, and in the following months they supported other leading bands in the genre such us Secret Sphere, Almah (band of Edu Falaschi, formerly singer of Angra) and Dark Moor.In summer 2014, with the strengthened direction of Mario Orman, the official videoclip of "Break Point" came out. SinHeresY crowned the brilliant concert season performing their songs in one of the most beautiful squares in Trieste with a real symphonic orchestra of young talents and participating to the XX Agglutination Metal Fest, the biggest metal festival in southern Italy. In January 2015 the band is confirmed as support act for the European tour of Lordi. The tour visited 8 countries and 22 cities and allowed SinHeresY to perform in prestigious live clubs like Alcatraz in Milan, Batschkapp in Frankfurt and Backstage in Monaco. In July the videoclip of "Paint the World" came out as second single hit and the band supported Queensryche and Dream Theater in the setting of Pistoia Blues Festival. Last but not least the band toured Europe as main support for the amazing Tarja Turunen and her "Shadow Shows" in Autumn 2016.The composition side is not left apart! - the band has worked hard on new material and the brand new album, "Domino", will be released on April 7th 2017 via Scarlet Records!

Album:

On the strength of their 2013 debut album, Paint The World, Sinheresy has found both success and recognition in the European metal theater. Enough so, they were able to open for Secret Sphere, Almah, Dream Theater, Lordi's extensive 2015 tour, and more recently supporting Tarja Turunen. Four years on, Sinheresy arrives with their second long player, Domino. To be matter of fact, Domino is one of those records that, when you listen to the first song, you pretty much know what you're going to hear across the entire album. While you will notice some variation between and within songs, the Sinheresy formula consists of some basic elements. One is the abundance of heavy to coarse riffage, giving the band a modern metal sound. When the riffage is combined with thick d-tuned rhythm section, the pair become the dominant sound. Another element is the substantial keyboard layer which swings between simple piano to symphonic lushness to swirling synth quirkiness. That trio of elements essentially informs every song, and so makes every song sound like the next, falling like so many dominoes. You're hard pressed to catch a guitar solo, but they are there, as within Star Dome, Under Your Skin, and Without A Reason, but you have to listen carefully. Otherwise the crush of riffage, rhythm, and synths will distract you. Those same things nearly crush the vocals and vocal arrangements. The lead vocals are female, then paired at times with male vocals. With the former vocals, Ms Petrini sings clean and sweetly; for the male vocals, Stefano Sain can add harmony, but singing leads he seems to struggle. Mostly Sain is charged with modern metal vocal multitasking: harmony first, then adding gruff vocals and something that sounds like heavy metal rapping as within My Only Faith. Basically, because of the music arrangements (and likely also singing in the non-native English), you can't understand them. You'll need the lyric sheets, which did not come with my electronic press kit. With two spins of Domino, my conclusion came quickly. I found the album predictable, and so rather tiring. Honestly, I'm not sure Sinheresy is doing anything new, better, or different than their past music or other bands. But you may feel differently, and their success continues, which is saying something. Check out the video below.
