Dokken is an American heavy metal band formed in 1978. They split up in 1989 but reformed four years later. The group accumulated numerous charting singles and has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.The band was nominated for a Grammy in 1989.Dokken was composed of founder Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch on lead guitar, Juan Croucier on bass and Mick Brown on drums. In 1983 Croucier left Dokken in order to join Ratt and was replaced by Jeff Pilson. Currently only Dokken and Brown remain from the original line-up. After several personnel changes on guitar Dokken's attorney Jon Levin stepped in to fill the role in 2004. In 2001 Barry Sparks replaced Jeff Pilson on bass. In 2009, Sean McNabb (formerly of Great White and Quiet Riot fame) replaced Barry Sparks on bass guitar.

Album titled “Live… ’95“ capturing the band’s mid-Nineties reunion for the album ‘Dysfunctional’ and its tour. Additionally, the release includes an awesome, raw recording at the Hollywood Palladium, Los angeles, CA, 1985.Dokken officially first split in 1989, however by 1988 the band was broke already. However, and after starting solo careers, Don Dokken and George Lynch initiated conversations in 1994 for a reunion, write new material and record a new studio album. Released in 1995, and despite (again) tensions between Don and George, ‘Dysfunctional’ and ensuing tour were a success.This lengthy set performed at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 3rd 1995 was originally broadcast on WLZR-FM, and captures the quartet on fiery form as they tackle a selection of recent material and older classics.As extra and completing Disc 2, we find Dokken’s 1985 performance at the Hollywood Palladium, which, as a friend of the our blog said; “this give you an idea of how hungry and feral they were 40 years ago!”We always try to present here only well captured live recordings, and while the sound quality of the Milwaukee 1995 show isn’t the best, it’s nice to have for its historical relevance – there’s no official live recordings from this tour. The band rocks hard, however you can hear how Don suffered from his voice problems at the time.The pearl of this release however is The Hollywood Palladium 1985 gig – recording quality is very good, and the band sounds wild, in flames!
