Celestial Decay is a symphonic melodic metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was formed in 2008 by Hobbe Houshmand[Guitars, Producer, Manager, Composer,Webmaster] and Henrik Hedman, with the ambition of creating a sound that rejuvenates the metal genre while staying true to its origin. The music can be described as energetic and powerful, yet smooth as silk when needed."Celestial Decay is a heavily focused symphonic metal band with the epic storytelling power of Dream Theater, the lush orchestrations of a band like Virgin Black, and the backing power of heaviness mixed with plenty of melody similar to bands like Kamelot." - The Metal Forge..At the end of 2009 the band joined forces with Beau Hill and released their conceptual debut album 'Contradictum'. It immediatly gained immensely positive feedback and major reviews have given it a very high grade. The album is described by media as an incredible solid debut."The musicians are technically skilled and accompanies the ambitious theme well. The epic parts are decorated with keyboards, fitting vocal harmonies and guitars with finesse."- Sweden Rock Magazine...In Mid 2010, after intensive touring throughout Europe, the candle of passion burned out for some of the members, so the band were in need of of a fresh re-start with totaly new members. Some left the band volountarily, and some got canned due to different reasons. The band was later re-initiated from scratch.New era is born...Hobbe recruited and joined forces with the talented Freddy Olofsson[Guitars, Composer, Art Director], a guitar-player Hobbe & Henrik had worked with and shared stage with numerous times in the past. They also recruited the awesome drummer Christian Wirtl (ex Soul Source, ex DragonForce). After two years of intensive work with the album, Wirtl had to take a time-out in order to concentrate on his business, being manufacturing awesomoe drum-pedals (Vision in Percussion). After some member try-outs that didn't work out fully, the duo had a big decision to make; Keep looking for the right members, maybe for eternity and potentially loose valuable time... or to find a everlasting solution to the problem that almost every band out there struggles with, being the problem with members that lack the energy and the right passion for the band.A desicion was maid from the simple fact that the best solution in order to gain control of the quality and work more efficiently, was to hold the number of members at an absolute minimum. The more, the merrier.. but also more complex.Conclusively, the 5-man strong band were cut down to a 2-men, even stronger band.In the future, the gap/hole is to be filled with variuos artists that are handpicked and recuited for each show or recording, while holding the core and the fundation solid forever and after. Nothing is carved in stone, if the right member shows up, he/she may be part of the core fundation...QuantumX is born...For the recording of the album "QuantumX", the band recruited Andy Kravljaca [Vocals], William Seidl [Drums] and Anders Jarnfalk [Bass]. Later, Tomas Reinerson had to fill in for Jarnfalk on 2 songs on the album.
