Mourning Divine was founded in September, 2009 by Natalie Roeder.Natalie was born in the "Five-Country-Area" called Transkarpatia.She developed a passion for composition at a very young age. The unstoppable drive to compose was the reason for her pursuit of studies at the Music Academy (faculty Music Theory with the side-subject of Piano). In September 2018 she started her study of film music composition and music production at the Musicube Academy in Bonn.In addition to composition in the "progressive heavy metal" area, many works for piano, strings, choir and orchestra were created over time. The combination of all these elements in her music has become the trademark of the musician.Natalie's idea of starting a band first originated in 2008. A couple of musicians answered her internet ads and they would meet. Some of them were not comfortable with the idea of a female composer creating "Hard and Heavy" music but nevertheless, this was her project and she was determined to see it through.Mourning Divine's second member was Natalies boyfriend, the French- born Lead Singer Olivier Tonnelier.He moved to Germany in May, 2009.Olivier who's part French and British, was born close to Paris. He spent most of his life in Sainte-Mere-Eglise in Normandy, France. There he started to sing at the age of 17 in different bands ranging from Punk to Death Metal bands located in Cherbourg and Caen in France.After his move to Germany Olivier started assists with writing lyrics, while Natalie handled composing and arranging the music.In November, 2009 Guitarist, Ronny Lenz joined the band.Over the years, the band worked with various musicians. In particular the possitions of drummers, solo and bass guitarists were repeatedly filled by new musicians.The core of Mourning Divine, consisting of Natalie, Olivier and Ronny remained steadfast and shaped the development of the band from its beginning to the present day.In March 2012, Mourning Divine was discovered and sponsored by the Wacken Foundation. This sponsorship enabled the band to produce a studio album and an EP in August 2012. The band also received a new drum kit.At the end of November 2012 the EP "Dragon King Trilogy" and the debut album "Lost at the End of the World" were released.In September 2014 Mourning Divine started to work on the album "Death does no deal" . In addition to the vocals, Olivier also took over the bass guitar and Martin Roßbach became the new drummer of Mourning Divine.The album "Death does no deal" was released on November 7th, 2015. There was also a financial support for this production in form of an interest-free loan from the Wacken Foundation. In addition, the band started a crowdfounding campaign. Many fans participated and supported the album production with their CD and merch items pre-orders.At this point Mourning Divine would like to thank all the fans who helped to produce this special album.At the beginning of 2016 Michael Körner became the solo guitarist of Mourning Divine.The band has been working on another album "Be free- No more masters" since 2018.To mark the band's 10th anniversary, the single "Be free" was released beginning of December 2019 and the music video was added on December 20, 2019.

Third full-length album.The album promises a lot of variety and a new level of metal orchestration. The founder, composer and keyboardist of Mourning Divine, Natalie Röder, is making her debut as a producer this time alongside Torsten Sauerbrey (Germany) and Christopher Borg (Sweden). With guest musicians such as Jan Trzepalkowski on Bass, Torsten Sauerbrey & Martin Roßbach on Drums as well as a bonus track with Bevana Best as singer (via stream only), the almost 15-year-old band appears in a new light and is heading towards a metal project that arouses curiosity.
