Originally founded as THE DRAGONSLAYER PROJECT, the group now known as DRAGONY was created in summer of 2007 by former members of the split-up Austrian Powermetal-Bands OMEGA EFFECT and ELEFTHERIA. After additional members on bass, drums and keyboards had been found, the band began rehearsing for their first live shows which they played in spring 2008. Since then, the band has had a few gigs in Vienna and its surroundings, with local support slots for national and international acts such as EDENBRIDGE, FIREWIND and AXXIS among them. Simon Saito was announced as new guitar player, and in December 2012, Manuel Hartleb joined the band as a new keyboard player. The second album "Shadowplay" is set for a release on 18th September 2015.

Austrian power metallers Dragony have announced the title of their second album, and revealed its front cover artwork. Follow up to their debut album Legends from 2011, will be titled Shadowplay, and will be released in September via Limb Music. Album's cover artwork was designed by the Hungarian artist Péter Sallai, known from cooperation with acts such as Sabaton, Crematory or Satyricon:"We have been working very hard on this new album for the better part of one year in the studio now, and we feel that all the hard work has finally paid off. We love the new material, and we are very much looking forward to share more details like collaborations, guest performances, and of course also the first audio snippets with you in the weeks to come!" says the band.

Austrian symphonic power metal act Dragony, featuring Visions of Atlantis vocalist Siegfried Samer, will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the band with a new extended EP entitled "Lords of the Hunt." The EP drops on April 7th via Limb Music.The EP will feature two new songs along with some re-recorded tracks, demos, video clips and other material to celebrate the band's anniversary. The EP artwork (shown below) was created by Dusan Markovic.

We are thrilled to announce that Dragony return with their third full-length album after the great success of their sophomore outing "Shadowplay" and the anniversary EP "Lords Of The Hunt"! The new album, entitled "Masters Of The Multiverse", will feature ten brand-new epic glory metal tracks as well as a bonus track on the physical CD release, inspired by the universes of many different beloved pop culture phenomena, ranging from fantasy literature over computer and video games to anime, movies and TV.The band states: "This album is a tribute to the heroes of our childhood and teenage days who inspired and entertained us throughout the years and we can't wait to share these new songs with you. According to Austrian symphonic power metal heroes Dragony and their brand new record "Viribus Unitis", the history of their home country took a completely different turn. What really happened at the time of the last Habsburg ruler of Austria, his wife and their son, the troubled Archduke Rudolf, is revealed by the symphonic power metal six-piece on their fourth full-length "Viribus Unitis". Let's clear the assumption that Rudolph died after trying to take his life at castle Mayerling in 1889. No way! Instead, after his mother Sisi was assassinated in 1898 in Switzerland, he subsequently got in contact with dark powers which, driven by his desire to be with her again, making him turn to black magic and demonology. Now history takes its true (!) course. There are not only zombies and cyper-punks lurking, Dragony also managed to prove further entanglements of well-known personalities you might never imagine.Founded in 2007 and after releasing three studio records, with "Viribus Unitis" Dragony returns to its rock opera roots, following up on the conceptual approach of the debut album "Legends".
