Founded in 2022 in Hungary by bassist Zoltán Papi, **BURNING SUN** has quickly carved out a name for itself in the underground Power Metal underground.The project expanded when singer/guitarist Pancho Ireland — also recognized from Merciless Law came aboard, bringing both vocal firepower and six-string fury to the table. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of '90s European Power Metal and borrowing its name from a classic Helloween track, the band built its sound around sweeping melodies, relentless rhythms, and larger-than-life storytelling.The duo unleashed their debut album, *Wake of Ashes*, in 2023 through Stormspell Records. Featuring a roster of international contributors, the record introduced the world to Emaly a recurring character who has since become a cornerstone of the band's visual and narrative identity, appearing across all of their artwork. While the debut drew partial inspiration from the world of *World of Warcraft*, the band ultimately chose to step away from borrowed universes and forge their own mythology.2025 brought *Retribution*, released via Metalizer Records a full-blown concept album exploring themes of revenge and redemption. Anchored in fantasy storytelling, the record wove its narrative through muscular riffing and chest-beating anthemic choruses that felt right at home in the classic Power Metal tradition.Early 2026 marked the dawn of a new chapter. The band welcomed singer/guitarist Nicolas Peter (Tyran, Invictus) and drummer Edmond Kulcsár (Gift Of Grave) into the fold. Nicolas stepped into the lead vocalist role, while Pancho shifted his focus entirely to lead guitar. The expanded lineup didn't just change the band's chemistry it fueled their most ambitious work yet. Their third album, *Power To Survive*, was co-written by Nicolas Peter and Zoltán Papi, delivering 10 high-octane tracks designed to lift you up when life pushes back. The record boasts guest appearances from Herbie Langhans (Firewind) on *"Emaly's Hymn"* and Alexandra Lioness (Jenner, Frozen Crown) on *"Over And Beyond"*.Burning Sun plays the kind of metal that has become increasingly rare uncompromising, passionate, and proudly rooted in the legacy of Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy, Hammerfall, and the broader '90s Power Metal movement.
