Lex Legion is a brand new band made up of old friends with an incredible heavy metal tradition. The band consists of four fifths of the classic King Diamond cast of the late '80s featuring Mikkey Dee (drums), Pete Blakk (guitar), Andy La Rocque (guitar) and Hal Patino (bass), complemented by the stunning vocals of Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind), and can also draw on shared experiences at Motörhead, Scor. pions and death look back. The eponymous debut album from Lex Legion is a purposeful, forward-thinking recourse to world-class hard rock/metal, characterized by tasteful "less-is-more" arrangements, virtuoso musicality as well as relentless melodies and harmonies.

You can hear the King DNA in the riff construction and the dynamic tempo shifts, but Lex Legion uses that influence as a launchpad rather than a destination.The result is a record that could have slotted comfortably into 1987 — and honestly, I mean that as a compliment. As guitarist Pete Blakk put it himself: “No one is writing this kind of music and there’s a big hole for us to fill.” He’s not wrong.
