Bio:

TITAN KILLER Heavy Metal band from Vienna, Austria.TITAN KILLER is a nice sounding young band with potential but at the moment the compositions lack that certain something. That one song that gets stuck in your head.TITAN KILLER is a Vienna based 5-piece band formed in 2015. TK’s lyrical themes range from fantasy to society / history. The sound is heavy and has the typical Heavy / Power Metal trademarks: up-tempo songs, high vocals and raw power. Here and there I detect a small VOLBEAT vibe (which is OK if it is not one of the essential trademarks). Max Fuchs’ voice is nice to listen to as he knows his craft and never pushes his limits. The overall production sounds real nice considering this is an independent production without involvement of a label.

Album:

As nameless shooting star illuminating trad metal night skies - since independent November inception - is Vienna's cheekily named Titan Killer, whose titular, albeit brief, novenary full-length debut does a wicked job of not only rocking us "until collapse", but stands mighty & tall as potential candidate for "rookie" of the month (alongside Indy's Throne of Iron, with its coveted, long-awaited release), in this humbly seeking, middle paged, knumbskull yegg's knackered mynd.Heedless of inane, awestruck self-babbling, take my (s)word - not hand! - whence detailing how adroitly rocking, in true sense of the word, are kick-ass, (titan) killer tracks such as "Titan Steps", "Quick to the Top", "Lethal Strike", "Infuse", "Tomb of the Unknown"...Oops, have I let slip said one-minute long, instrumental opener, as well as pretty much every cut, thus far? The thing is, excluding the comparatively bland next-to-last "Titan Killer" proper (as well as token, albeit unskippable, "intro"), all exhibit masterfully crafted, solidly produced, bass-heavy, and vocally omnipresent mega-anthems, for which it's impossible to not fully groove out to, whilst every element of the Austrian quintet's breezily accessible mien harks to modern-day (like genre) celebrators Blackslash, Blade Killer, Johnny Touch and Midnight Chaser...In other, exalted words, imagine the driving life force behind these (delightful) bands coalesced, by means of a spiritual bio-sound-lab, into a helluva lively, keen, and dead-set prototype capable of delivering charge after charge of kinetic fulminations, from the Chaos-Over-Cosmos-like synths auspiciously yielding an uplifting, sessioned prelude, to the hook-riddled, super magnetic "Quick to the Top", the pair of which perfectly set the album's relentless pressure cooked adrenalin, as it nary lets up, and yonder, thus, until timely (titled) final checkpoint, "Knockout" - one of only three tracks which exceed four minutes. It's not easy to explain the musicianship in depth, 'cause it's simply so...genial. The singer, for one, is a bang-on deadringer for Scott Shapiro, of Midnight Chaser ineluctability (i.e. the Californians' excellent 2014 LP, Lion's Choice) - very much so during "Infuse" and "Tomb of the Unknown" (the remaining four plus minute-rs) - never mind how he carries the tunes above the instrumentation, instead of vice-versa. Granted, once an explosive, Dio-meets Steppenwolf with a bit-of-Eliminator era ZZ Top on-the-s(l)ide powerderkegger in "Rocking Until Collapse" takes over, I'm sold like, like...like a g-spot gigolo! (Some albums take time to grow on us; not this one.) In general, riffs and solos are animatedly pentatonic - notably, on "Fatebringer" (TK's preemptive single) - which brings to mind a less caustic or brash, yet every bit as fired up, Stallion (of neighbouring Germany) , along with an amplified Aerosmith at its rawest/dirtiest; that is, prior to the rock "titan" getting all frisky in an elevator. Accelerated, linear and less curvaceous Corsair undertones additionally whittle my brainpan. To be honest, was compelled to rate Titan Killer slightly lower, but its extra-gainful, incredibly sleek production, engagingly mesmeric chants, even pervasively thrilling gang shouts, disallows it. Let's not omit the pulsing, thwacking battery, either! Leads are perfunctory, yet readily seizing and vociferous; although, ironically, the otherwise humdrum title track features an aggressive bout of harmonized dual soloing which compensates for its rather tedious, not to mention reprised, final verse. (As a rule of thumb, emphasis is placed on momentum/rhythmic gyrations, their lot compounded by gripping vocals.) In a bear hug (when speaking of behemoths...), Titan Killer's innocuous first outing resounds, tremendously. At thirty-three minutes, not only do the songs rapidly conduct their business (thus avoid overstaying their welcome), but benefit from considerate staying power, as well. Insofar as heavy rock/metal revival and survival go, absconding (from), in my nook, amounts to treason.
