Megasonic is a melodic metal band hailing from Belgium. Its music is a modern mixture of 80's metal genres, mainly influenced by heavy metal, hard rock and thrash metal. The band started out as a studio project back in 2012, but it soon became a reputed live act. Lead singer Dimitri Verhoeven is a professional vocalist, who's known for his appearances in many musicals, e.g. '14-'18 and the Flemish version of Blood Brothers. Megasonic's band members have been part of other rock and metal bands in the past, such as Dakota, Rubicon, Everglow, Crusader and Monster Joe.In 2014 Megasonic's debut album "Intense" was released by Mausoleum records. The album received positive reviews from all over the world. Meanwhile, the band finished the recordings for their second album "Without Warning", which will be released in 2017.

With references to the metal genre of the 80s and 90s, where we as aspiring musicians were immensely fond of, we try to give shape to our musical outbursts with Megasonic. So maybe with a little hint of nostalgia, but also driven by the power of today’s contemporary metal bands, it is for us both a challenge and a pleasure to bring you this kind of music.Drums like sledge-hammers, bass like the rolling thunder, guitars like jet engines… the emphasis of Megasonic’s music lies on a powerful “mega-sonic” sound. Still we never shun the possibilities of the most beautiful instrument, the voice, something far too often forgotten in the metal genre.We started this project some time ago in our studio with the equipment that was at that time at our disposal, this without any obligation or time pressure, but always driven by our love for this kind of music.You will notice an evolution in our songs as we always strive to improve ourselves both musically and technically.Every new song we add to this site reflects our quest for musical satisfaction. We’ll keep you informed of our progress on a regular basis.We hope you enjoy our music!
