Bio:

The dynamic songs of STORMAGE impress with their rich diversity and multiple facets, thus making sure that they stick with you without ever letting go.STORMAGE cleverly combines traditional melodic heavy metal with the modern influences of today‘s genres, while always sounding unique and up-to-date.Or as it could not been better summed up by Andreas Schöwe of Metal Hammer more appropriately: „A refreshing interpretation of modern heavy metal, which is second to none in Germany“.STORMAGE was assembled from musicians of a metal band known as Anthem back in the days, who - with their debut album („Metal Or Bust“) - received great attention from metal fans and fanzines alike. After the former singer left the band, guitarist Heiko Heseler stepped into his shoes, and remained there until today. With the addition of guitarist Hugo Fromm in 2003, STORMAGE was born. They spent two years with intensive songwriting to be able to produce their debut album „Balance Of Power“ at the Ampire Studio, which was released in 2005 via STF Records and received fantastic reviews worldwide.„Sudden Awakening“ (released in June 2007 via STF Records). The album received very good reviews and STORMAGE continued to play at numerous European clubs and venues. Thanks to the many shows with the likes of Stormwarrior, Sabaton, Powerwolf, Orden Ogan, Axxis, Grailknights, MessengeR, Cripper, Accu§er, Gun Barrel, Sacred Steel, Skyclad or Eisregen as well as countless festival appearances, STORMAGE continued to make a name of themselves.Starting in 2010, the four musicians collected new experiences through different projects without losing their focus on STORMAGE.Inspired by these new experiences and influences, STORMAGE once again entered the Hardland Studio in 2016, to record their new album „Dead Of Night“, which was produced with the assistance of Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann (Orden Ogan; Greenman Studios). With their new effort and a deal with Massacre Records, a new era has begun for STORMAGE - with the aim to enrich the metal scene with their music. From head to toe, this album is a heavy metal masterpiece full of energy, emotion and attitude! In February, the first video clip for the track „Deadly Blow“ will be published online. The album will be released on March 24th.

Album:

First track ‘Instinct to Defend’ rings true as you try and save your ears from bleeding out. The heavy metal just pumps to its hearts content and unleashes its cold harsh stabs of rhythms along with harmonies that are solid and heartfelt.‘Anguish of Mind’ tends to bust a gut with the guitar frets stretched to their limits as the track flourishes with every note, twisting uncontrollably and dishing out more metal than you can shake a stick at.‘Heretic Enemy’ gives out some superb ambience and melancholic vibes. It is a sad emotional storm with lilting vocals that stop and allow for a musical intense drama to unfold.‘Prime of Life’ is beautifully created with soft strings that mould into your ears, although it is a very serious track that is passionate about what it rewards the listener with.‘Faithless God’ is a rumbustious track that highlights the drums and favours the guitar for this all out frenzy.‘In the Line of Fire’ effortlessly spews out hypnotic metal rhythms like no tomorrow. Being raw and acting on impulse it pushes itself to its own limits and proudly succeeds them.‘Drag You to Hell’ offers Church bells and footsteps that seem to take us into a Church along with a hideous scream. It soon takes on the battle with some kick-ass beats and flaming groove.‘Victims Eyes’ is another ballad that uses some soft keys to accentuate the sadness contained within the notes. It is quite a bi-polar track that offers a lot of sinister goings on.‘The Deadly Blow’ gives us a heartbeat and a twisted synth melody that is wrapped into a sonic drum beat and magnificent riffs.‘Borne the Agony’ provokes a malignancy through its sinister vocal whisper, then explodes into an excitement of rhythms that go all out to scathe and please. This album is about as raw as it gets. It tugs on the emotions and quickly creates a stir, with the melodies making good solid impact on the senses, raunchy and persistently satisfying it plays out baiting the audience with enthusiastic qualities. It’s very intrusive with rousing grooves and at times downright forceful, hitting with severe magnitude. Devouring its listeners audial as well as temporal lobe they are a force to be reckoned with! Stormage Dead of Night is out via Massacre Records on 24th March 2017.

Album:

A storm is coming! STORMAGE again make a clear step forward on their long-awaited fourth album "Ashes Of Doom",which is also due to the renowned co-producer Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann (Orden Ogan, Brainstorm. The quartet offers strong and intense power metal without compromises and with genre-typical hymns. A touch "darker" than you would expect from german power metal. The four power metal stars of STORMAGE have let six years pass between their last album "Dead Of Night" and the current "Ashes Of Doom". This may have been due to Corona, but mainly to the fact that good things take time and that some things get better when you work on them in detail and let them mature.Of bloodshot eyes and sinking hammers...This is what happened with "Ashes Of Doom". The record sounds round and, as usual, the four guys from Plettenberg hit the ground running, a good bit darker than one is used to from German power metal. The band, consisting of Heiko Heseler on lead vocals and lead guitar, Tim Sonnenstuhl on lead guitar, Dirk Heggemann on bass and Vasileios (Billy) Georgiou on drums, has clearly developed further compared to their early works, which is probably due in no small part to the involvement of their renowned co-producer Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann. His influence on "Ashes Of Doom" is striking and unmistakable, one immediately thinks of his band ORDEN OGAN after the first few bars. Songs like "Our Latest Endeavour" also bring back memories of BRAINSTORM. However, STORMAGE are not a copy of these bands, and in comparison to their two early works "Balance Of Power" and "Sudden Awakening" they have made a good step forward in terms of sound. However, here and there the vocals of lead singer Heiko Heseler are a bit off, and the background choir in the title track "Ashes Of Doom" gets so weird towards the end that it pulls your teeth. However, the fat riffs in "Blood Shot Eyes" quickly make up for it. At best, the song causes bloodshot eyes if you indulge too much in the urge to headbang that seizes you from the very first bars. Thematically, "Ashes Of Doom" is no lightweight either. Unexpectedly, the intro to "Slide On Your Knees" comes with whip cracks and a heavily breathing, crying woman and leaves the listener slightly disturbed. Song number ten, "Put The Hammer Down", sounds like a bad cover of HAMMERFALL from the title, but is actually a fat board with a lot of speed. Was the long wait for "Ashes Of Doom" worth it? Yes, definitely. STORMAGE are carving out their own signature and lovers of the genre will be very happy with this album. A clear recommendation!
