Bio:

Hellraiser were formed in 2011 in Città di Castello (Perugia-Italy) by guitarist Michele Brozzi. After that, Marco Tanzi (Guitar), Cesare Capaccioni (Voice), Riccardo Perugini (Drums) and Riccardo Rogari (Bass Guitar) joined in the band one by one. While the band was performing live, its members started the composition of their own songs.In May 2014, after the first album recordings, Rogari left the band and Francesco Foti joined in it. In July 11th 2014, the band's first full lenght self-produced album "Revenge of the Phoenix" was released and followed by a presentation tour. During the tour, Hellraiser had the chance to share the stage with bands such as Riot V, Domine, Sabotage, Evil Invaders, Picture and so on.In August 2015 Hellraiser announce the partership with the label Sliptrick Records, and the re-release of "Revenge of the Phoenix" with a worldwide distribution.Later on, the band focused on writing and recording a second album.November 2018, Ronny Milianowicz mixed the new album at Studioseven, then Tony Lindgren mastered it at Fascinations Street Studios.March 2019 marks the beginning of a new partnership with label Underground Symphony.

Underground Symphony is proud to announce the signing with Italian metal band HELLRAISER for the release of their second album “Heritage”.“Heritage” is a concept album which is characterized by very specific features. It does not tell of a single story, nor does it tell of a single adventure. It is about nine different tales coming from every continent and from different historical periods. Some of them are modern ones, some others are older, even older than the birth of writing itself. Within this huge chronological and thematic framework, the concept of cultural heritage is the key figure. Whatever the place in the world and whatever the period in history, the human being has always felt the inner need to narrate, the need to narrate and express itself and its own life by means of narration.It is an heritage for the future generations which find its expression through the tales being passed down from father to son, that son who will one day become a father too and who will narrate the same tales to his heirs. This endless cyclic nature contributes to the establishment of a shared identity which unites all men coming form any time and place.The album was recorded by Cesare Capaccioni at Barfly Studio, mixed by Ronnie Milianowicz at Studio Seven and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios.“Heritage” will be released on May 25th 2019 in deluxe CD-digipack format.Cover Artwork by Jahnvision Art on original subject by Alessandro Bacchetta.

The band was founded by the guitarist Michele Brozzi during the year 2000 with the purpose of paying tribute to heavy metal especially to the eighties period. In the beginning, the repertory was only made of cover songs including some of the best tracks of the most famous bands as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, R.J. Dio, etc., but ever since the band members wanted to evolve, composing and proposing original music.After some years, the combo was including one more guitarist, Marco Tanzi and the singer, Cesare Capaccioni, still the frontman of the band, which, thanks to his great vocal talent, allowed the band to expand its horizons, adding further songs to the previous list of covers.Since 2009, the band has had a new bassist, Riccardo Rogari and a new drummer too, Riccardo Perugini.During the last years, the band started to have its own sound and the inspiration had finally an outlet throughout the composition of new songs, inspired to Classic Metal, Power Metal, Thrash metal, etc.Actually the band released its first full length “Revenge of the Phoenix”, including nine brand new tracks. The release party, including a powerful concert, was during July 2014, honoured by the local metal crowd with enthusiasm.In August 2015 Hellraiser announced the beginning of the collaboration with the US record company "Sliptrick Records" as well as the reissue with the related physical and digital Worldwide distribution of "Revenge of the Phoenix".Meanwhile the band is working on the next studio album.STAY TUNED for any possible news and follow the Phoenix!

You have to wonder about the dedication of one’s craft when the origins of this Italian Heavy Metal act, HELLRAISER, started in 2000 with guitarist Michele Brozzi and they are finally releasing their first full-length album 14 years later. Taking a few years to assemble the right lineup, the art of songwriting evolved from being a cover act tackling IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH, and DIO material to their own originals.I’d say that the quintet gravitate towards a Traditional Metal style that has nuances of Thrash, Power, and Classic elements – the vocals of Cesare Capaccioni very high pitched and soaring, in league with Tony Moore of RIOT or Harry Conklin from JAG PANZER (check out the moody 8 minute “Way of the Brave” for all facets of his multi-octave screams and lower register during some of the verses). Guitar harmonies and tempos that have a galloping/ march feel seem to be the foundation to HELLRAISER’s sound. Drummer Rick Perugini and session bassist Riccardo Rogari, can really hit some up-tempo rhythmic heights on “Gates of Fate” that rival mid 80’s IRON MAIDEN, if put through a Bay Area Thrash filter – but there are times in this song where Cesare needs to take the shrieking down a few notches as it detracts from the instrumentation of the arrangement.The infamous drum opening for ANTHRAX “Indians” comes up on “The Forge” – but the rest of the cut is more of a double bass power riff offering that has early DIO meets RIOT leanings. I can’t fault any of the musicianship on “Revenge of the Phoenix” – these guys know their Heavy Metal through and through, giving the listeners plenty of devils horns moments, especially in the 9 minute plus closer “Pillars of Life”, where Marco and Michele pile on fiery lead breaks and solid main riffs.If given a chance to look at this 9-track album as a whole, I would say that this is a good to great final product – but some will think the vocals could use a bit more control. There is no doubt in Cesare’s leather lunged capacity, I just think he needs to be wise in where to go full force and when to lay a little bit back for sanity’s sake. A band to watch in the coming months and years.
