Album:
At "Opening" the principle "nomen est omen" applies. It is a 70 second intro track. You can hear an acoustic guitar, which serves us tender, "country-like" sounds. In the background the sound of the wind can be heard. It almost feels like being in a western movie. The hero faces his rival for the final shooting duel at noon. Immediately it pops. At the subsequent "Feel On Fire" bassist Axel Whiteman is the first to open the fire. This is followed by classic heavy metal riffs and Kevin Van Raiser's distinctive vocal organ is heard for the first time. Somehow, Joel O'Keeffe (Airbourne) is in there too. A catchy, solid story. That makes the guys really strong. Of course, a feasible sing-along chorus may not be missing. Towards the end of the song, the guitar solo lovers will also get their money's worth. Drummer Yvan tempoises on "Gorgeous And Dangerous". With a nice, shrill scream, the wild ride starts. Pure Metal in pure culture! Parallels to Enforcer, W.A.S.P., Mötley Crüe or Skull Fist are absolutely given. Of course, a band with this style must dedicate a few songs to the female gender. We all know very well that our girls can be both beautiful and dangerous. Powerful riffs and rapid pace characterize the next track "Desire". In places suddenly there are also keyboard melodies to be heard. However, these fit perfectly into the existing song structure. No doubt a number with hymn potential. Chains let the chains rattle. Definitely a hint of this silver piece. Even with "High Wild Ride" is again pressed with full vigor on the accelerator. This track could just as easily be found on an Airbourne record. The number is in a good mood. Chainer drive clearly in the fast lane. The competition remains only the view of the taillights. «Angel» is the longest song of the album with a playing time of 05:08 minutes. The trio has already released a music video. In it, all heavy metal clichés are served well. You can see hot ovens, sexy chicks and genre-usual poses en masse. In spite of the short hallelujah singing at the beginning, it soon becomes clear that this is not going to be really sacred. I can fully understand why the band chose this piece to be the appropriate video clip candidate. "No God No Master" also comes around the corner with a lot of speed. However, the thing can not quite keep up with the level of the preceding numbers. Unfortunately, I cant really get out of the slippers this time. Did I think so? The obligatory ballad was missing! These deliver us Chainer with «Lone Rider». A welcome relief. Time for a short break. The acoustic guitar sounds put you right in the right mood. Kevin and his buddies prove to the audience that they can take it easy. Fits. Take out lighters and enjoy. Clear the stage track. "Ball's Kicker" includes some monster riffs. That's what I like. Undoubtedly a number for the headbanging crowd. This kick sits in the heart. A worthy and successful completion of the regular album part. Now it's still an extra round. The definitive album finale is the bonus track "Stars". This is a feature between Chainer and the Brothers And Sisters Of Rock'n Roll. Behind it are musicians of various Swiss bands. The song itself is a cover version. The original is from the charity music project Hear 'n Aid from 1985. Strippenzieher behind this whole story was metal god Ronnie James Dio. The reinterpretation is basically a good idea. However, the Chainer variant can not quite keep up with the original. CONCLUSIONS Chainer take classic Heavy Metal to the chest and breathe new life into "Ball's Kicker". Fast-paced hymns, crisp riffs and a matching vocal organ give the story the right spice. I wish the boys that they can overcome the limit of the "Röschtigrabens" and raise their level of awareness appropriately. This would be deserved after the release of such a cool disc anyway.
