The core unit of Tarchon Fist was created at the end of March 2005, after the split of the band Rain, the memorable Italian group present on the metal scene since the 1980s, whose guitarist, founder and songwriter was Luciano “Lvcio” Tattini. This event coincided with the coming of Marco “Wallace” Pazzini (bassist and founder of Basic Dreams, famous band from Bologna, born in 1994). The starting idea was to continue with the Rain project, but this was not possible because of a serious of adverse situations. In few weeks the first line up was completed. The Name TARCHON FIST was the “logical evolution” of the “Rain” band. Tarchon was an etrurian, king, hero and then also a god. The god of the storm. With the world “fist” the band wanted to underline the power and the impact on stage. At the end of 2005, the band recorded a promo, and a videoclip was produced on the music of “Eyes of Wolf”. Thanks to this video, the band was contacted by the label My Graveyard Productions and in 2007 Tarchon Fist signed a contract. In January 2008 My Graveyard Productions announced the release of the album “Tarchon Fist”. Under the same label just on year later, in 2009 Tarchon Fist presented the 2nd album “Fighters” with a double release party. After a change of line up with Mirco “Ramon” Ramondo on vocals and Sergio “Rix” Rizzo on guitars and many shows around Italy the purpose of Tarchon Fist was to bring Italian Metal around Europe in a short time. In October 2013 the new cd “Heavy Metal Black Force” (My Graveyard Productions) came out. For the first ten years of carreer, the band released the album “Celebration 2005-2015” in December 2015 with a new song called “Celebration” and the best of the first decade. In 2016, Tarchon Fist started to work on a new album. In July 2017 the EP “Proud to be Dinosaurs was Released”. From 2010 to now the band’s line-up has remained the same except for the new drummer Giacomo “Jack” Lauretani (2016). So from 2010 till today the band toured across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, England, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, France. In August 2018 the band performed a show at the biggest festival in the world: The mighty Wacken Open Air. In 2019, After the release of the concept album “Apocalypse” (2019) via the German label “Pride & Joy Music”, Tarchon Fist started a european tour with Lordi in february 2020.Due to the pandemic, the tour stopped and the band got home ahead of schedule. During the lockdown, the band decided to write another album, working from each home and recording together only during the rare moments of opening, according to law. The cover artwork, as well as Apoclypse, is signed by Mr. Stan W. D., the well known illustrator of metal world: Megadeth, Avantasia, Stryper, Blackmore and Primal Fear are just some names among his works.During the winter of 2022 the band announces via social that the new album is about passion, the flame that still burns for that people that never surrender, with the title “The Flame Still Burns”, released on April 28th 2023. Due to the side effects of the pandemic, “JACK” is forced to leave the band. He was replaced immediately by Lorenzo “STUPA” Stupazzoni, a good friend who had already taken over in 2015 as a session man.In 2023 Tarchon Fist started to work to a new album for the 20th anniversary of the band (expected release 2025. On the other hand several drummers put themselves forward for the vacant position.

Here's another band that's been flying under my radar, Tarchon Fist. I haven't heard a thing from them in eight years. As far as I knew they were defunct, kaput, crapped out. But not so. These Italians have been marching with several new albums.Unfortunately, though it's being pitched as one, Celebration is not a "new" album. It's actually a compilation album of 12 previously released songs. To be fair, there is one new song, the title track. But, bottom line, Celebration is not a new album of new material, quite the contrary. And I don't generally review compilations or greatest shits albums. Yet, since I listened to the album anyway, a few words are in order. Brief words.First, Tarchon Fist plays basic twin guitar melodic heavy and power metal of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal variety. Second, they're pretty darn good at it, too. Strong song arrangements with harmony and melody, swift rhythm section, clean vocals, and bunches of guitar solos. Third, something that's not known is whether the old songs the old ones or re-recordings by the band. Then some smart person might suggest that this is a "new" album after all. You all can quibble over that all by yourselves. Leave me out of it. Finally, instead of passing off old material as new, the band should have given us a complete album of new material. Otherwise, if you've never heard of Tarchon Fist and liked the heavy metal described above, then Celebration is a fine introduction to the band.

Tarchon Fist, an Italian metal axe swinging outfit that know how deliver lyrically with heavy slick metal riffs have produced quite a few albums however this is there first concept album.This new album, ‘Apocalypse‘, will take the listener into a journey of myth, legend and historical fact as well as dousing your musical hunger with fresh volcanic jolt.Guitars are in full harmonic song, bright, punchy and duet with harmonic waves.This is a concept album that is well organised, the narrative here is a path of human to human conflict and tests the question that none of us are born good, nor are we born bad.This is intellectual metal that’s delivered by versatile and precision musicians that play fast and hard with little compromise for a lyric trail that is full of challenge such as ‘Razor From The Abyss‘.‘Proud to Be Dinosaurs‘ is something of a min anthem that just hooks you in as you explore this albums journey.This is based on pre-Christianity culture rather than anything biblical so don’t expect any mercy here other than some hints of a Ballard on ‘My Destiny (Epilogue)‘.‘Last Human Strength‘ is another strong track with a riff change midway that is reminiscent of Beethoven’s ‘Für Elise’.Ramon on lead Vocals doesn’t let up and delivers a range and tone reminiscent of some place between Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford.Make no mistake, this is a story that needs to be listened to over and over again without being shy on the volume.
