Bio:

Lords of the Trident is the most METAL band on earth. Their metal's so pure that only diamonds can scratch it, and usually the diamonds are the ones that end up getting hurt in the end. Their amps are so loud, Manowar knocked on their door and asked them to "please turn down". Their metal’s so pure that only diamonds can scratch it, and usually the diamonds are the ones that end up getting hurt in the end. Their amps are so loud, Manowar knocked on their door and asked them to “please turn down”. You think you’re bad? While you’re watching their sweep picking wondering how they bend space-time to fit all the notes in, they’ll punch you right in the face without missing a beat. If you like battle, bloodshed, axes, fire, and losing limbs, then mosh your way to the front row and receive your free ticket to Valhalla. If you don’t like these things – too bad. They’re playing anyway, and they’ll make sure to steal your girlfriend in the process.

Album:

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT prove that it is today still possible to write great Heavy Metal Songs of traditional character. With costumes, their witty representation and a high-energy live show they entertain their fans on the best! You are definitely one of the best newcomers in traditional heavy metal! It is time to reach a larger audience and 2015 is the year for it! Album:

“Shadows From The Past” is full of grand tales of legends and lore. The influences of musicians such as Judas Priest, King Diamond, Dio and Iron Maiden can be found clearly throughout the album; that being said, The Lords Of The Trident certainly have a caliber of their own. They bring a unique and fun spin to the power metal genre. This album is full of everything we love about power metal, and you can feel this album awaken the warrior within you!Death Dealer opens with Fang’s epic battle cry! We are guided through the tale of the death dealer who is out to claim our souls. The Lords Of The Trident come at you hard and heavy with shredding guitar riffs and vocals that are full of those high notes that get your blood flowing and your heart ready for battle! Zero Hour really highlights the bassist as well and is full of beautiful, flowing guitar leads.Tormentor is a track is full of great hook riffs as well as a catchy vocal hook; it will have you chanting along with them- ‘TORMENTOR’! “Burn It Down (with Fire)” in my own opinion, is one of the highlights of this album. It gives us a chance to hear what every member truly brings to the table. This track also has a special feature from the talented Brittney Slayes of Unleash The Archers! The guitar shreds, the bass and drums are thunderous, and the vocals are full of power and passion. The beginning of this track kind of has a Motorhead type of feel. If the mighty Lemmy had written power metal, this is definitely how it would have sounded.Figaro is a tune that kind of slows down the pace and reaches into your heart. It’s an uplifting tale about coming together and conquering evil.”The Party Has Arrived” is a short power track that breaks us into “Brothers Of Cain” which calls us to a meeting of bandits. This track is another one of my favourites from the album because of the amazing bass solo. The lyrical content is a fantastic story of conflict as well; telling of the sacrifices of freedom for grandeur. However, as a struggling artist, this tale is one that I could honestly find a connection with. It’s hard to get your name out there, and if you look at the tale of struggling bandits and compare it to the modern struggle to fame, you can find multiple elements in common with this track.Reaper’s Hour Glass is a power metal track that has a little more of a modern metal flavor. It seems to cross a little bit into the metal genera of nu-metal or modern metalcore, but only a little bit. This track still sticks very much to its bloodline.“Chasing Shadows” is sort of like the title track of the album. Although the track itself isn’t called by name, the lyrical content is suggesting it to be so. This track is a great way to sort of sum up the entire album without ending it just yet. It shows off the talents of the members while also conveying the overall mood of the album. There are many of the unique elements from each track within it. This track blends smoothly into the next song The Nameless Tomb. The rhythm of this tune gets you moving. It’s a real headbanger, and I could easily see a whole crowd moving to this one. This tune is heavy with Iron Maiden-like passion that helps us prepare for the ending track of this album The Gatekeeper. This track is the perfect ending to this album. This track is solid and triumphant. You can feel the spirit of Dio in this one as well.Overall this album keeps the fighting spirit alive and well! The band is tight, the sound and production quality of the album is solid; The Lords Of The Trident is truly a band on the rise, and there is no question as to why. The album is available for purchase August 24th, and I strongly suggest getting yourself a copy!

Album:

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT is an American Heavy/Progressive Metal band from Madison, Wisconsin. Formed in 2008, they have created a backstory of legendary proportions. They wear armor, they tell tales, and they give their fans a show worthy of being called a performance. “The Offering” is their seventh full-length album, and it was released independently on April 1, 2022.Known for telling epic tales, this is no different. “Legend” opens with some gentle harp music. The same phrase is used for the guitar riff, which basically runs over the harp, backs up, then crushes it again. The rhythm is just as tasty. Cool leads over the riff give the song extra flavor. The rhythm chugs along, propelling the tune forward, driving like a maniac. This is the start of the tale and they even let you know this is a popular tale by telling you “Over and over and over the story is told.” Keep listening, it’s only going to get bigger and better."Acolyte” and “Charlatan” are great examples of their ultra-fast guitar work. The riffs may be heavy, but the lead work is a combination of shreddy and delicate. The drums shift from frenetic to finesse in a heartbeat and the bass is usually running pace with the guitar, showing an ability to not just maintain a pace, but to keep that pace even when the guitarists have to take turns soloing because the bass wore them out. Non-stop action from all the instruments is a key to the LORDS OF THE TRIDENT sound. The next song we have to talk about is “The Offering to The Void.” This chugging riff is slower, and so good. The song is almost sludgy compared to much of the rest of the record. DO not worry, the song will hit all the epic goalposts to make sure you get enough metal. This tune is big and bold and epic in every way. The thundering bass, the galloping drums, the intricate guitars and the soaring vocals all equate to killer Power Progressive Metal. To help shift the story, “The Invitation” is a short instrumental that allows for a transition by giving you a guitar and piano interlude that leads into “Dance of Control.” Those piano tones continue throughout this song, adding another layer of sound into the mix. As if the story and sound was not big enough, here is more. It’s a nice touch, adding that extra little piece in to make sure the song stands out.Completing the tale is the epic “Heart of Ashes.” With plenty of progressive shifts, this is the requisite song on any good Power Metal record. It’s the wrap-up of the story, the end of the journey. The music comes around full-circle and finishes the tale. To make this song more epic, they add keys and strings. These excellent additions to the music give the story more of a cinematic feel. One of the best things about music like this is you can dig into the lyrics and create your own movie in your head. Just close your eyes and let the music transport you to another place, an alternate world, where the story will wrap you in its loving arms and give you an epic escape from the doldrum world. This is an hour of your life that can be lived in a fantasy. There is no need to worry about the job or the bills, just go to the land that LORDS OF THE TRIDENT so beautifully crafted for you.The shredding guitars, the soaring vocals, the thundering bass, and the powerful drums all work together to create a soundscape that allow the listener to just float along on metal storm cloud that you know will get you to your happy place. Once there, nothing matters but the bliss you feel while wrapped in a cloak of Power Metal riffs and rhythms. Life will never be better than when on this epic journey.

Album:

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT is an American heavy metal band from Madison, Wisconsin with almost 2 decades in the business. The five piece band is known for its mixture of classic, power, and modern progressive metal combining strong vocals, complex instrumentation, and an expansive fantasy backstory to create energetic live shows. They toured with varied metal-style acts from Helloween to Steel Panther. It is perhaps one of the most obvious connections to make, but a pretty large contingent of metalheads are also gamers. LORDS OF THE TRIDENT know all about making things for the sake of sheer enjoyment, as their brand of metal feels tailor made to remembering that heavy rock music can and should be made to be enjoyed from time to time. This upcoming release, ”V.G.E.P.”, finds them writing and recording songs that pay homage to a favorite video game, such as Final Fantasy, F-Zero, Road Rash – all 80s / early 90s arcade video games. But apart for being a metal metal band, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT are well known for their love of ’80s culture and a lot of music outside metal. Supporters / Patreon of the band will receive as well cover songs from Stan Bush, Extreme, Scorpions, even Peter Cetera (!) and more.‘To Kill a God’ is about Final Fantasy 6, one of the band’s favorite video game of all time. ”We like this game so much, this is not the first Lords of the Trident song to feature references to that game! It’s heavy, and fun.‘Master of Speed’ originally started out as a demo for the band’s album The Offering, but was deemed “too happy”. Guitarist Helleshaar wrote this about his carefree days of childhood summer, but the frenetic speed of the riffs fit really well into a song about one of the coolest racing games out there, ”F-Zero” ”Jet Set City”: ”This song has a bit more of that 80s personality to it, so it’s no surprise that guitarist Akira wrote a lot of the original ideas for this one. That sort of in-your-face attitude that the music exudes was perfect for a song about spitting in the face of the man and making your mark on the city using whatever means necessary. A perfect corollary for the game Jet Grind Radio”.Says vocalist Fang: “While not a video game song per se, the cover of Steve Winwood’s pop hit ”Valerie” ives off the vibe of walking through your local mall in the early 90s, music blaring through the tinny speakers on the ceiling of the mall, on your way to the local arcade. ”I recall always hearing this song outside of my local Aladdin’s Castle arcade, and it’s a favorite of mine and Aki’s”.”The Ballad of Jon Milwaukee” was inspired while playing the game Road Rash. Fang says: “We have a local hard rock radio station that – for some reason or another – doesn’t really like to play our music very much. Guitarist Baron Taurean Helleshaar decided he was going to write a song SO PERFECT for that station – so oozing with “modern rock radio” – that they’d HAVE to play it.He accidentally ended up making one of the most complex songs we’ve ever written. I was playing the game Road Rash on our regular Monday night Twitch stream at the time, and one of the racers was named “Jon Milwaukee”, so of COURSE we had to pick him (Milwaukee is a city in Wisconsin and very close to us). I wrote the lyrics based on fake “lore” that the chat came up with while we were playing!”.Then there’s a fun cover of Stan Bush’s classic ‘The Touch’ (related to Transformers), ‘Los Angeles’ of synthwave masters The Midnight (it’s fun hearing a metal band performing this song), an acoustic version of Extreme’s hit ‘More Than Words’, and many more, showcasing other side from LORDS OF THE TRIDENT.
