Year : 2019
Style : Heavy Metal
Country : Germany
Audio : 320 kbps + front
Size : 108 mb

Bio:

Band formed in 2016.In an enlightened world, it must be allowed to ask how the musical succession to Metal legends like Judas Priest or Iron Maiden is to be realised. Or is the change of guards already under way? Following in the footsteps of the Metal giants of our era will by no means be an easy feat. Still, it must be done, and we need suitable candidates with a vision who align themselves with the long history of this music genre while taking their compositions and playing style into the future. TURBOKILL, the new formation of former Alpha Tiger vocalist Stephan Dietrich, could be such a candidate in the making. The German band comes with an exceptionally set of skills to drive forward a Heavy Metal style that is traditional yet modern. Is it too bold a thesis then, to name them as a contender? Hardly, especially since the 12 songs making up the group’s first album Vice World – to be released on 25th October 2019 by Steamhammer/SPV – beg to differ. The message comes across loud and clear: The future of the classic Heavy Metal has already begun!Vice World more than meets the expectations that TURBOKILL set with their EP back in 2018. Last year, the self-titled work was awarded impressive 9 out of 10 possible points by the trade journal ‘Deaf Forever’. In addition, TURBOKILL was one of the top 5 candidates for the support act to the 2018 ‘Metal Hammer Awards’. There must be something to the rumours going around about the new band being one of the most talented and most promising in this particular music genre.

Album:

What we have here is a contender for the next generation of classic rock. In 2019 we get album based on the kind of classic trad metal that, at the heavier end, influenced and then rode alongside power metal. Think late 80′s/early 90′s Judas Priest, even a touch of mid to late 90′s Saxon. This German band Turbokill (for the Germans have made power metal their own) were formed by former Alpha Tiger vocalist Stephan Dietrich, and is joined here by guitarists Ronny Schuster and Daniel Kanzier, bassist Marco “Fox” Grunwald and drummer Philipp “Nafta” Diessl.A great building intro that storms into the title track, which totally rocks. The guitar work and interplay stands out. There’s some nice high speed work over machine gun rhythms. There’s many an anthemic moment, which largely are excellent. But in ‘Pulse Of The Storm’ the anthemic vocal line over some chunky guitar riffs doesn’t flow as well as it does elsewhere on the album. The same track continues in epic fashion though.Lyrically the band are quite astute, global affairs, the current industry (‘Global Monkey Show’ for example), there’s good reason to question aspects of society as they do.There’s much an influence here, you can see a hint of power metal bands like Mob Rules, and a touch of early 80′s American metal, like Hammers Rules. All the roots are visible, but the performance is spot on, and if it keeps the next generation switched on to classic/trad metal, then that has to be applauded.

Album:

The Germany band Turbokill around ex-Alpha Tiger singer Stephan Dietrich is back with their second album.Turbokill have dedicated themselves to European power metal. Characterised by strong melodies and Stephan Dietrich's memorable voice. A short tour at the beginning of the year, under the banner 'New Wave of German Metal' with the bands Sintage and Fireborn in the package, highlighted the quintet's instrumental skills and first-class power metal. After their show at the Backstage Club in Munich, Rock Hard magazine counted Turbokill among the "elite of Teutonic steel". The band's musicians naturally wanted to live up to this honour. Revitalised by the energy of their live performances, the band subsequently recorded a suitably inspired album under the direction of Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call) in his Emperial Sound Studio.
