BLACK MARIAH was founded by the remnants of an old cover band in Vienna and how it formed into Black Mariah is a very interesting story. Danny Bullman was meeting some of his friends from the Rock‟n‟Roll business, Ace Trump (Manager of Thin Lizzy) and world renowned bassist Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy), who were playing in one of Vienna‟s biggest venues – the Stadthalle – in a hotel for some drinks. B.B. Newman had accompanied him. As they were sitting talking about music and life in general the topical conversation turned towards the current band project Danny and B.B. were in. In their possession were some samples of original music that they had been working on. Upon hearing this Ace and Marco immedia-tely told them that it‟s time to start with the original music only if they want to succeed in music. A call was made to Steve Destiny the bassist and founding member of the current project and he was informed of what conversation had just taken place. He agreed automatically and said “LET‟S DO THIS”. The seed for Black Mariah was sown and the search for the complete line up was started. Enter El Farido, one of Austria‟s top drummers, recording and sound engineers, who had worked with the guys previously. The Black Mariah concept was explained to him and with great enthusiasm, the fourth member was set in stone. All that was needed now was a second guitar player with the skills to match the rest of the band. After some serious thinking and searching Filthy Phil‟s name was mentioned and he was tracked down. Upon a meeting with the other four members and one amazing practice session the fifth member was inalized. BLACK MARIAH WAS BORN. After the line up was set in stone, the band started to work on their first single „Killer Inside“. In winter of 2011 the music video for the single was shot and received very positive feedback. Shortly afterwards BLACK MARIAH started to produce their debut album “Done and Dusted” (release: Oct. 4th, 2013) which features in- ternational guest musicians, such as Richard Fortus of Guns n‟ Roses and Ryan Martinie of Mudvane. In the same time the music video for “Get Me The Fuck Outta Here” was shot. BLACK MARIAH are very demanding when it comes to performance, songs, artwork, videos etc. and their obsession with perfection makes every new production top this high energy power pack again and again. BLACK MARIAH is a surprisingly fresh and promising act that delivers throbbing, modern rock „n‟ roll.
