Soundgarden initially called it quits in 1997 and reunited in 2010.By many, Soundgarden are often considered the fathers of the "alternative metal" and "grunge" genres. Their hit single "Black Hole Sun" (from the 1994 album "Superunknown") earned the band worldwide popularity.Scott McCullum was originally going be their drummer but only practiced a couple of times with them in early 1986, before Matt Cameron called to offer his services to Chris.The entire band makes certain cameo and on stage appearances in the 1992 movie "Singles", together with members of Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.
