Lastera is a progressive power metal band from Copenhagen, known for their epic compositions and dynamic live shows. Formed in 2021, the band quickly made a name for themselves with their critically acclaimed debut album From The Ashes, as well as sharing the stage with established international acts like BLIND GUARDIAN & SEVENTH WONDER, and being the first band on stage for the first edition of EPIC FEST in Denmark. With a new release right around the corner, they continue to build on their reputation as one of Denmarks most promising metal acts.

Second full-length album.The finest progressive power metal straight out of Denmark.Danish Lastera plays symphonic prog/power metal. They formed in 2021 after their previous band Downfall disbanded. From here there are 3 members.In 2022 they released their debut full-length called ‘From The Ashes’. So from the ashes of their former band, there is now this band.The lineup is as follows: Kristoffer Koudahl (ex-Downfall) on bass, Emil Frøsig (ex-Downfall) on drums, Lasse Heiberg on guitar, Christoffer Warming on guitar and Oliver Svensson (ex-Downfall) on vocals.I hadn't heard this band before listening through. They really have a singer who knows his stuff and is very varied in his voice. Good vocal work. The drums are well played, sometimes they sound really fast, like something that could be from a death metal release.On this EP there are 5 tracks. The lyrics revolve around the narrative of power, rebellion, doom and ultimate destruction. Very relevant in the world of 2024.There are no bad tracks on here, but especially ‘Empyrian Light’ and ‘Led Astray’ are my favourites, mostly because they are very powerful in their expression. Some that really express themselves extra well. ‘Empyrian Light’ with its very fast drums and “Led Astray” with a great introduction.I'm very impressed with the standard of these 5 tracks. Good variety, vocal work and the interplay works quite well. I really had a blast while listening to this release. Wow, this is good.Imagine only 1 full length and 1 EP, what's not to like. I would actually like to see them live on stage. Where their enormous energy can really be expressed.If you, like me, are fascinated by this type of music, then you should not deceive yourself to check out the band.This track was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen. As I understand it, they are not yet on a label.
