The Finnish progressive metal act Damnation Plan can be characterized as a modern chameleon of metal: combining both harsh and clean vocals in their trademark genre crossing heavily rhythmic and emotional metal. Among personal reflection, the band's lyrics revolve around emerging modern day societies' cultural phenomenons and issues.As the Metal Channel stated: "A melodically progressive death metal act with heavy metal influences is truly unique to this genre." - their earlier two albums' featured also harsh vocals to accompany their sound. On the new album this time all the vocals are 99% clean.Damnation Plan was founded in 2004 by Jarkko Lunnas and Kalle Niininen in Espoo, Finland as a progressive metal band that mixed harsh vocals with the more traditional melodic clean vocals. The first Demo EP "Darker World" was released in 2007 for which the band played a dozen gigs around the Helsinki area, including a Tuska 2007 Warm-up show.In 2011 after a more or less hiatus, the material for the first full length "The Wakening" was ready and the recordings got started. The band's line up was completed by Asim Searah (ex-Kiuas) for clean vocals and Tommy Tuovinen (MyGrain) for harsh vocals. With the renewed line up introducing Asim and Tommy on vocals, Jukka Vehkamaa on bass, Antti Lauri on lead guitar the band recorded "The Wakening" which was mixed by Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath etc) at Unisound studio in Germany.The Wakening was released via Italian label Coroner Records (Disarmonia Mundi, Destrage, The Nightflight Orchestra etc). "The Wakening" debyted at #18 in Finnish physical album sales chart) in March 2013.Between the recordings and the mixing of the follow up to the their debut album, the band visited also Tallinn's RockClub Tapper to play it's first outside Finland gig, supporting Suicidal Angels (Gr). The band released the follow up album 'Reality Illusion' in 2017 via Inverse Records.After the Finnish release gigs for Reality Illusion, Tommy left the band in 2019 and Asim took over all the vocal duties coping impressively live both harsh and the clean vocals on their headlining gigs at On The Rock Helsinki and first open air festival show Dark River Metal Festival, Finland in 2021. The band started the recordings of their next album with Jaakko Nikko as the new bassist replacing Jukka Vehkamaa.With the renewed line-up, in 2023 Damnation Plan is about to release their 3rd album - titled as 'The New Horizon', out on 08.09.2023 via Inverse Records!

Building up to the 18th August release of their third studio album “The New Horizon“, Finnish Progressive Metallers Damnation Plan have shared the first part of a documentary series following the making of the album. This one focuses on the first test mix and the recording process while also mentioning a pre-order campaign that closes in seven days time.
