Isom is American AOR / melodic hard rock band from singer Mark Isom...before that, the band was called VALENTINO.Isom recorded their songs in 1987 and toured relentlessly along the East Coast. Criminally overlooked by the major record labels, the band was unfortunately short-lived, and lead singer Mark Isom went on to collaborate with former members of Malice on the band Monster, whose album was titled "Through the Eyes of the World.".Only one album "Hearts On Fire" 1987 by Isom is awesome, which is one of the greatest 1980s melodic hard rock albums...perfectly combining hair metal with melodic rock and featuring splendid key works.There is only an reissue by Retrospect Records in 2007.This superb album deserves an official reissue eagerly. All the songs are killing, soul-stirring and melodious. If Isom's one-off album can become one of the lost US jewels, that will be a marvel for all the hard/melodic rock fans.

Super CD/DVD Package Featuring a Live Club Show from when the band were known as 'Valentino'.Retrospect Records unearthed this wonderful lost gem from the ’80s titled “Hearts On Fire” and released it in 2007. Here you’ll find everything from uptempo AOR tracks to gorgeous power ballads. The album is characterized by massive hooks, passionate vocals, and incredible choruses; the production is top-notch, and as it should be the keyboards are fantastic.These songs were written between 1984 and 1987, the golden age of American melodic hard rock, Despite being recorded on a low budget, the tracks on "Hearts On Fire" are fairly well-produced, though they give me the impression that they’re unpolished.I’d single out the anthems: “Your Eyes” , “Heart Break” , “Heart On Fire” and “Stay” though I consider the rest of the tracks just as noteworthy.This cd have is moments and I am sure die hard AOR fans will love this album.The feeling I have when I listen this record is that Isom is a small band who could do better with a real big great production.
