EDGE was formed in 1996 by guitarist Nolan J. Vander Haagen, drummer Alex Serrano and bassist Brooks Gage in Pearland, Texas. As teenagers, their sound was cultivated by rage and youth ignorance. Within a few years and only a few shows, EDGE released their first album "Criticize". EDGE continued to play shows all around the Houston area and in other Texas cities. At the time, EDGE had participated in numerous local and national competitions, receiving third place in a nationwide Big Break Music Festival held in Grand Junction, Colorado. Around the same time, Vander Haagen also recorded guitar for Ice Cube and earned a platinum plaque for his contributions.EDGE added a fourth member and lead guitarist, Tommy M. Lee in 1999. His virtuoso guitar technique gave the band a progressive twist. In 2001, Carl Beatty joined the line up to add and contributed his style and passion to the sound. In 2003, the band went back into the studio to record its second full length album entitled "As She Runs". With a successful second album the band took a short break to participate in other musical projects. EDGE regrouped in 2004, adding a new member, Tommy Vanos. Vanos helped to redirect EDGE to the heart of rock music with his compassion. In 2006 EDGE released the album "Fight". In 2007, Caveh Masum, an eccentric guitarist with Greek and Persian ancestors, was added to the line-up. EDGE went back in the studio to work on their 4th full length album, entitled "Venus in Furs". The album release was completed by late Summer of 2008. Several of the songs were featured in the video game "Rock Band". The final track "Metamorphosis" was featured in the motion picture "Flashes". In 2013, the band took a break from music to pursue other ventures. In 2019, Vander Haagen completed an acoustic rock project named inviting Serrano to record the drums. The project released three songs under the name “Buddastahn”. After a few conversations in 2022, it was decided that EDGE would record a new album with members Vanos, Beatty, Serrano, and Vander Haagen. They recruited long time friend Rob Ceez to record and co-produce some of the record. The album titled “Latency Vol. I” is set to be released in Winter of 2023.EDGE has played with many bands such as Fuel, Hoobastank, Flyleaf, Earshot, Pressure 4-5, Pushmonkey, Blue October and The Hunger."We are forever grateful to our family, friends, and fans for your support and inspiration" - EDGE.
