German rockband starting as a tribute project - now writing and recording own songs.To record a song for the favorite US-Rockband and to hand it over personally - with this idea it all began in 2016. As a few musicians from Gummersbach finally met their idols, the fire was literally burning. So singer Sinah Meier wrote "We Got The Fire" and the tribute project developed to the band "Freakstorm" that writes and records its own songs now.The first EP "We Got The Fire" was recorded in 2018 of Robert Schuller at the Artfarm-Studio and released self-directed. The song appeared in some radio shows and rock magazines.With Marc Bremer (Bass), Olli Fuchs (Drums) and the rock guitarists Dirk Weidmann and Toby Wendeler a strong team has formed. Now Freakstorm is producing the new songs at the TrakShak Studio in Karlsruhe with Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69/Unisonic).In April 2019 the band found a new partner: the Label Major Promo Music in Gummersbach. One month later the song “Can’t keep me down” was released – along with a videoclip on YouTube. This first single of the coming EP is available on streaming and download platforms.Just like the second single “Not The One”, that was presented in August. Both singles made it to some rock magazines and radio shows. Now Freakstorm is proud to present its new EP “From Zero”, that was released digital and also with a CD in October 2019.

The Oberbergische band "Freakstorm" has set up a set in the gallery Hammerwerk to shoot the music video for their second single. Director is the Gummersbacher Jannik Gramm.The rock ballad "Not The One", which starts very softly and ends powerfully, was recorded by producer Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69 / Unisonic) in his TrakShak studio."It's about a painful separation. You realize that you are not the right person for the other. Only then both have the chance for a fresh start, "explains singer Sinah Meier, who has written the song. Against this background, the band also came up with the idea for the cover for the single: A burning wedding dress."It's not just Photoshop - we actually lit and photographed a wedding dress," says drummer Olli Fuchs.After the musicians in their first video for "Can not keep me down" in front of the camera rocked wildly, filmmaker Gramm gave the instruction to perform the quieter ballad sitting down."That was unusual for us, but it suited the atmosphere of the song," says guitarist Dirk Weidmann."Not The One" will be released on Friday, August 23, and can be found on all streaming portals like Spotify or Apple Music, the video clip is available on YouTube.Freakstorm has more plans: "In autumn our EP will be released by Gummersbacher label Major Promo Music," says bassist Marc Bremer. "Not only digital, but also on CD," adds guitarist Toby Wendeler.
