Hardcore Superstar is a hard rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was formed in 1997 and continue on today. Hardcore Superstar have had several #1 hit singles, and Grammy wins in Sweden.Hardcore Superstar formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1997. They released their first album, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll, on Gain Records in October 1998. Out of the 11 tracks on the album (including the hidden track, Fly Away], 7 songs were re-recorded for their first worldwide release, Bad Sneakers and a Piña Colada. Released in 2000, Bad Sneakers contained 7 of the tracks from their debut, along with 6 new tracks. The Japan release for the album featured a bonus track, "Don't You Ever Leave Me", a cover of a Hanoi Rocks song. The album spawned three singles, all being #1 hits on the Sweden music charts; "Someone Special", "Liberation" and "Have You Been Around", respectively. The band toured Europe and Japan in support of the album, and a promotional video for the single "Liberation" was released. The video was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. In 2001, Hardcore Superstar released their third album called "Thank You (For Letting Us Be Ourselves)". The album had a more laid back feel than its predecessor and spawned two singles,"Shame" and "Mother's Love/Significant Other".In August, 2003, the band released their final album with Music For Nations, entitled "No Regrets". This was also released in Japan as a "Limited Edition" album, featuring a completely different cover, and a bonus track, entitled "Who", a cover of a song by The Who. Two singles were released for the album, "Honey Tongue",which reached #3 on the Swedish charts, and "Still I'm Glad". Hardcore Superstar toured Europe and the United States in support of the album the following year.In 2005, Hardcore Superstar re-signed with Gain Records, the label with whom they released their debut with in 1998. The band returned rejuvenated, with a hard rock sound more comparable to their earlier works. They released a self-titled album Hardcore Superstar in 2005, which featured the Swedish hit singles; "We Don't Celebrate Sundays", "Wild Boys", "My Good Reputation" and "Bag On Your Head". The Japan release of this album contained a bonus track, entitled "GTO", which stood for "Girls Together Outrageously". This saw them nominated for a Swedish Grammy, as well as being on major national TV and radio shows in Sweden. They also toured Japan, along with the Swedish band, Babylon Bombs. In November, 2007, the band released the album Dreamin' in a Casket. This was the last album to feature founding guitarist, Thomas Silver. Originally, it was meant to include the single "Bastards," but due to the success it achieved in the singles charts, it was shelved, although the Japan version of the album contained the song as a bonus track. The album was praised in the Swedish newspapers and was titled by many as "Album of the Year." Dreamin' in a Casket contains a more heavy guitar riff-based sound and includes more noticeable drumming. The album was also released as part of a CD/DVD combination, featuring the "Inside The Casket" documentary, which showed how the band recorded the album. The band toured around Europe and Japan, and ended their "Mentally Damaged Tour" in their home country of Sweden. In late January 2008, it was announced on the band's official website that guitarist Thomas Silver, would be leaving the band as he had "lost his fire and inspiration". Vic Zino, from Crazy Lixx, replaced him temporarily during the World Tour, but was later confirmed to be a permanent member of the band.In March, 2009, the world's biggest Heavy Metal label, Nuclear Blast announced the signing of Hardcore Superstar. The seventh album by Hardcore Superstar, entitled Beg for It was released worldwide in June, 2009. It was released in Japan, and USA, with different bonus tracks. The Japan edition featured the bonus track "Silence for the Peacefully [Live]", a song released on the previous album, Dreamin' in a Casket. The USA release contained two demo songs, one being "Welcome to Your Own Death", and the other "When I Glow", a demo version of Need No Company, again, from the album Dreamin' in a Casket.Shortly after the Beg For It tour of the UK in 2010, Hardcore Superstar announced that they were planning to release a new album, as the tour had proved to trigger their creative minds, and as a result, new material was being recorded. On April 12, 2010, they announced four potential song titles from their upcoming album, being Last Call, Sick as a Dog, Won't Be Bullied and Sadistic Girls. On May 19, 2010, the band released the titles of four more potential songs from their upcoming album, being Lowlife, Beat On the Bully, Party Ain't Over ´til I Say So and Here Comes That Sick Bitch Again. Last Call, and presumably, judging by the chorus of the song, Party Ain't Over 'til I Say so, were changed to Last Call for Alcohol, Won't Be Bullied, and again, presumably, Beat on the Bully, were changed to Bully, and Sick as a Dog and Lowlife were left off the release. On August 9, 2010, Split Your Lip was announced as the title of the album, as well as a tentative release date, set for January 2011.The band released the album Split Your Lip on November 26, 2010, two months early than they planned. The album spawned one single, "Moonshine", a double A-side, featuring both "Moonshine" and "Guestlist", with a bonus track entitled "Lovin' the Dead". The single was released only through Sweden Rock magazine. When the band performed a free show in their hometown Gothenburg on 11 August 2010, they played the songs "Here Comes That Sick Bitch Again", "Last Call for Alcohol" and "Sadistic Girls". It was the first time they played any material from the album. On August 30, 2011, the band announced that they would be releasing a Best Of album, with a release date of October 26. The album was to include songs from all releases, with a brand new song entitled "We Don't Need a Cure". The song premiered on Bandit Rock Radio on August 31, 2011.On October 30, 2012, it was announced by both Gain and Vic Zino, the band's guitarist, that the new album would be called C'mon Take on Me. The debut single from the album, "One More Minute", was officially released on January 17, 2013. The album was released on February 27, 2013.On January 24, 2015, after ten years of not being on American soil, the band performed a full headline set to a sold-out crowd at the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, California. The night before, they also played a six-song opening set for Steel Panther at the 2015 NAMM Jam in Anaheim, California. They also plan to release a new album in North America in April, 2015.

Album:

Dreamin' in a Casket is the sixth full-length album by Swedish hard rock band Hardcore Superstar. It is the band's last release with guitarist Thomas Silver, and their last on Gain Records before switching to Nuclear Blast.2005's Hardcore Superstar marked somewhat of an about-turn for the Swedish hard rockers. Three albums into their career, they'd drifted far from their raucous glam-punk roots and into the domain of MOR radio rock which, while garnering them the odd hit single at home, was ultimately unfulfilling. For their fourth album, they went back to the source and mined the music that had inspired them from the beginning -- Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses -- and regained their edge in the process. Dreamin' in a Casket is a continuation of this evolution, and their intent is clear from the bone-shaking thrash riffing that greets opener "Need No Company." Despite the immensely improved instrumental performance, Hardcore Superstar always felt a little indulgent and a little raw. Dreamin' in a Casket is just a little bit more calculated: the arrangements are more carefully crafted, Thomas Silver's guitar work is more melodic and tasteful, and drummer Magnus Andreasson's benefits from less reliance on his overworked bass pedal. Song for song, Dreamin' in a Casket comes up marginally short of its predecessor, and suffers from a slight lack of anthemic pop/rock songs, but is a far more consistent effort and may even be more enjoyable as a result. Fans will still hold out, however, for the first truly great Hardcore Superstar release.

Album:

Gothenburg based rockers Hardcore Superstar will release their 11th studio album, "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll", on September 21 via Gain Music Entertainment. The disc consists of 12 ear splitting anthems that drive home the fact that rock isn't dead. It is, in fact, alive and well and thriving in Sweden.Recorded throughout 2017 and early 2018 at the beautiful Österlyckan (Wooden Hybrid) Studios near Gothenburg, the album was produced by the band members themselves and mixed in Stockholm by Dino Medanhodzic.Celebrated worldwide for its explosive and uplifting live performances that are bursting with integrity and passion, HS has managed to somehow harness and capture all that passion and raw energy and translate it into the 12 songs that make up "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll". This is a huge sounding album on all levels, overflowing with sure fire hits and guaranteed future fan favourites. The album's first single, "Have Mercy On Me", was released to great critical acclaim at the end of 2017 and quickly became play listed on radio stations all over Europe, making it a runaway success. The following singles, "Bring The House Down", "Electric Rider" and "Baboon" have built enormously on this success, creating massive amounts of excitement and anticipation amongst the fans and media in preparation for the album's release. Further singles are also planned to coincide with the band's ambitious world tour that will see them playing to audiences far and wide throughout all of 2018 and 2019.It's safe to say "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll" is an unapologetically confident and assured album full of big hooks, attitude and aggression that doesn't let up from the moment the opening track "ADHD" kicks in all the way through to the closing track "Goodbye", with the title track being an uplifting, rallying call to arms for all fans of rock music to stand proud, united in the celebration of who we are and the music we love. All the elements that that make up a great HS album are here in abundance. At its core, there is the great songwriting and big choruses that are synonymous with every HS release. However, each song stands on its own as well as complementing the album as a whole, taking the listener through a rollercoaster of snarling riffs, heavy bass lines and relentlessly driving drums, all of which are intertwined with enslaving melodies and Jocke Berg's unmistakeable vocals.Said the band: "'You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll' isn't just a statement of confrontation and rebellion, it's a celebration of everything we love, the music, the lifestyle, this is our religion, it's our choice, and it's everything we believe in."

Album:

Swedish street hard rockers HARDCORE SUPERSTAR have released the ”Forever And A Day” EP, also including the songs “Catch Me If You Can“, “Dreams In Red” and “Weep When You Die“, taken off the band’s upcoming album “Abrakadabra” which will be released on 25 March 2022.These songs give a good idea of what to expect from the album. The main track ”Forever And A Day” delivers a very ’80s feeling with ‘made in Leppard’ choruses to it, really melodic.“Catch Me If You Can“ is a dirty, kick ass rocker with a great solo, “Weep When You Die“ is also punchy however what shine here is the melodious chorus, while “Dreams In Red” rocks yet with a twist, midpaced.

Album:

Great new album.I must admit it’s pretty cool to be given a copy of one of your favourite band’s albums three months before release date, and even though it’s not out till March I reckon I’ll have clocked up 100 spins by then it’s that good! After the success of 2018’s “You Can’t Kill My Rock N’ Roll” it was always going to be hard to wait for the follow up especially as that damn pandemic stuck it’s nose in and delayed things further – making it a pandemic-enhanced gap of almost Def Leppard-like proportions between releases.Down-under we’ve always had a great affection for the guys – Hardcore Superstar were one of the last bands a lot of Australian Rock fans saw when they played with Buckcherry just before we all locked down, so with things opening up soon it’s fitting that we get a new release and another promised visit. I must warn you all though this one is worth the two years of anticipation. Abracadabra is a monster of a record! It sounds great too, with drummer Adde talking up working with producer Johan Reiven again and calling the new album ‘the record they should have released after the self Titled ‘black’ album’ in 2005. “Working with Johan was like stepping back in time, there’s a shared intensity and commitment to excel that collectively drives us and ultimately brings out the best in us all… I am 100% happy with the result”.And you know what it has worked spectacularly well. Rock and Roll has always been about escapism and getting away from the day to day grind, and Abracadabra that well known arcane incantation does that (as if by magic) so well. This is a no-nonsense collection of memorable riffs, attitude and intensity that are transformed into killer songs. It’s also an album that pulls on years of making great music to end up with something that is certainly one of Hardcore Superstar’s finest hours. These ten hard hitting songs start with the slow build and slap in the face of the title track that relishes the guitars in the intro and gallops into a deep groove even before the vocal cuts in. It’s a headbangers delight! ‘Influencer’ that follows is shorter and sharper with plenty of bite, and ‘Forever and a Day’ blows away any remaining cobwebs with a mid-tempo beat and sing-along chorus to get everyone in the house moving. And all this before ‘Weep When You Die’ crashes in with a searing guitar and groove and melody to die for.The sticky centre of the album features two of my favourites – first the crunching, attitude dripping ‘Give Me a Smile’ and then the speed machine that is the thundering ‘Catch Me if You Can’ which may just be my favourite hear after playing the hell out of the album all month! But some might even argue that the best is yet to come with the “bar soaked philosophy” of ‘One For All’ – a real fist-pumper, or the defiant and distinctly metallic ‘Dreams In Red’ that really hits the spot.We close out with the intensity of ‘Throw a Brick’ which soars as it’s driven by guitar and drums into a huge chorus; and the last word goes to ‘Fighter’ which much as you might think is going to take you out with a foot to the floor, instead picks up the acoustic. It’s a song lush with melody, full of spirit and not without bite. It’s a great way to round out a pretty flawless record. I can’t wait for you all to hear it!The fans are going to love this and those unfortunate ones who haven’t heard Hardcore Superstar yet are going to realise what they’ve been missing. For those of us that have seen the band live where they are at the absolute best – this is an album I’d love to see played out Downunder sometime soon! Crack a beer and turn it up and pull the knobs off!
