Bio:

After spending years cultivating a distinctively glittering fusion of glam-rock swagger, 70s-inspired riffs, and pure, unapologetic girl power, Julez and the Rollerz are turning their passions into anthems for a new generation of rock lovers. The Los Angeles–based quartet, Jules (vocals, guitar), Morgyn Payge (bass), Spark (drums), and Shea Carothers (synth), has created a sound that marries the intensity of stadium rock with the intimacy of a tight-knit sisterhood.“We truly have a great current group of talented babes right now, it’s such a blessing to be honest,” Jules says. Morgyn agrees: “The sisterhood and the talent in this band is unmatched. We’re bandmates but also best friends. I thank my lucky stars every day.”The formation of the band was a series of fortuitous connections. Jules met Shea in 2021 through a mutual friend, while Morgyn joined in 2022 after subbing on bass. Spark was introduced via another connection, jamming with the band during tour prep before officially joining by the end of the tour. Those initial bonds laid the groundwork for a musical and personal connection that’s palpable onstage.Julez and the Rollerz have shared stages with The Velveteers, Girltones, Chokecherry, The McCharmlys and many more, as well as solo DJ sets by Bratmobile and The Postal Service. In fall 2024, the band completed a Pacific Northwest tour as direct support for Moonwalker, expanding their reach to new audiences and solidifying their reputation as a must-see live act. Festivals have been a particular highlight, with the band appearing at Freakout Fest Seattle 2024, Psyched Fest SF 2024, Echo Park Rising 2025, and Happy Sundays Festival 2022 & 2025, cementing their place in the modern festival circuit. Their performances have taken them to iconic venues such as The Mission Theater (Portland) and The Echo (Los Angeles), delivering memorable shows to devoted crowds.Central to their rise is their glam-rock single “Call Me Up,” a song that captures the electric energy of 70s rock while remaining deeply contemporary. Opening with the line, “Dropped a line on Tuesday that was a drag you said that you missed the loving we had, but I still wait desperately for your call,” the track combines driving guitars, infectious hooks, and Jules’ powerful vocals reminiscent of Marc Bolan and Joan Jett. The song has quickly become a fan favorite, embodying the band's knack for storytelling through melody, emotion, and stage-ready energy.Beyond music, the band emphasizes friendship, creativity, and community. Their live performances thrive on the energy of audiences of all ages, making each show an intimate and exhilarating experience. Critics and fans alike have noticed their impact: Julez and the Rollerz have been featured in FLOOD Magazine, Bandcamp Daily, The Alternative, CREEM, and Punknews.org, and their Jam in the Van session captures the spontaneity and raw energy that defines the Rollerz’ live sound. For Julez and the Rollerz, the future is expansive. “Work hard and follow your dreams … Don’t be afraid to be different and unapologetically be yourself,” Morgyn advises. “Celebrate all wins, even the smallest ones,” Jules adds. With their music channeling the glamour and grit of rock’s past while blazing a path forward, Julez and the Rollerz are poised to inspire a new generation of rock fans, one electrifying riff, soaring vocal, and unforgettable performance at a time.

Album:

Los Angeles based all-female rock n’ roll band JULEZ And THE ROLLERZ is releasing their new album titled ‘Dirty Little Rock N’ Roller’ via Lollipop Records.Every few months another band strolls in wearing vintage leather jackets and claiming rock and roll is back. Most of them sound like they bought their personality from a thrift store. JULEZ And THE ROLLERZ avoid that trap with ‘Dirty Little Rock N’ Roller’, an album that actually feels alive instead of carefully curated for social media nostalgia. It has swagger without smelling like cosplay, and it understands that great hooks still matter just as much as ripped fishnets and loud amplifiers.”Dirty Little Rock ‘N’ Roller” thrives because it never mistakes volume for excitement. Every song has a purpose beyond simply making as much noise as possible. Glam attitude crashes into gritty energy while sharp melodies sneak into your brain before you realize what happened. The result is an album that feels reckless in all the right ways while remaining surprisingly focused. It is the musical equivalent of showing up fashionably late and somehow stealing the whole party without even trying.Jules Batterman leads the charge with the kind of vocal performance that knows exactly when to snarl and when to let vulnerability slip through the cracks. That balance gives the album its emotional weight. The band sounds locked in behind her, pushing every chorus higher without crowding the spotlight. It is refreshing to hear chemistry that feels earned instead of assembled in a rehearsal room five minutes before recording. One of the album’s biggest strengths is its willingness to embrace growth without sanding off its rough edges. ‘Dirty Little Rock N’ Roller’ acknowledges that growing older does not automatically mean growing boring. The songs wrestle with change, uncertainty, and self awareness while still sounding like they would happily knock over a stack of amplifiers on the way out. That tension gives the record far more staying power than another collection of empty rock clichés pretending it is still 1977.Fans of current rock who have grown tired of endless imitation should find plenty to enjoy here. Even ‘Call Me Up’, which previously hinted at this direction, feels completely at home among the newer material, proving it was less of an outlier and more of an early warning that Julez and the Rollerz were leveling up.Every track reinforces the feeling that the band has figured out exactly who they want to be without sacrificing the unpredictability that made them exciting in the first place.‘Dirty Little Rock N’ Roller’ is the kind of album that reminds you rock music does not need saving. It just needs bands willing to stop treating the past like a museum exhibit and start using it as fuel for something fresh.Julez and the Rollerz have delivered a record packed with attitude, memorable songwriting, and enough personality to embarrass a dozen copycats.
