Ruckus is a melodic hard rock / melodic metal band from Trub, Bern, Switzerland, that was formed in 1990. In 1995, the band changed its name to Shakra.Shakra have been in existence since 1997, following in the footsteps of Ruckus.Led since 1990 by singer Pete Wiedmer, the band from Trub in the canton of Bern only recorded one album, released in 1994, before changing their name. After a first album of the same name released in Japan before Europe, Shakra went on to release Moving Force (1999), the live album The Live Side (2000) and Power Ride (2001), distributed by the Munich-based label Point Music. In 2001, health problems led Pete Wiedmer to give up his post, which was taken over by Markus Fuchs aka Mark Fox. He was joined by guitarists Thomas Muster and Thom Blunier, drummer Roger Tanner and bassist Oli Linder, who had taken over from Roger Badertscher the previous year.

The debut and last album of this band before it changed its name in 1995 to the now well-known band SHAKRA.In 1990, a new Swiss hard rock band was founded in Bern under the name RUCKUS. 4 years later, the guys were already playing as the support act for KROKUS and GOTTHARD. After changing their name in 1995, the band released their first album in 1998, which was named after their new band name: SHAKRA.The guys live up to their reputation as a convincing live band and straightforward, no-frills hard rock becomes their trademark. Concerts as support for HAMMERFALL, WHITESNAKE and GUNS N' ROSES followed, and some of the albums they released made it into the Swiss top charts.Very Good Hard/Heavy Metal with some melodies and killer riffs.One of my fav song is "Stranger in the Night" and "Next Generation" too (a nice acoustic song).A really great sounding melodic band that sounds a lot like GOTTHARD and JADED HEART.The production and musicianship are superb.Huge guitars are all over the place on this CD.
